I am a little confused. I can only post in new members forum however it appears most threads are locked. Does this mean I cannot comment on any newbie threads but have to start new thread?

The threads at the top, which are locked, ar "stickies" put there by the Moderatorts to explain the rules and give information to newcomers.

You can post in any thread in the Newbies forum that's not locked. No need to start new threads. You'll get the hang of things in no time

I'm pretty sure they have the five post rule so spammers don't come in and create a ruckus. But it should fly by fast and once you play around in here a bit, you will pick up on how to get around. It's a great community.
