It takes a while to settle into a nic level AND find a good liquid (menthol was what helped me quit, I made my own menthol drops to add to crappy menthol liquids). Took me almost a year to find my sweet spot! I'm using 18mg now (started with 12 and a few drops of 24mg when I wanted a ciggy and big mistake trying to drop my nic levels down to 6mg!!).

Also, you might find that snus would help you get the whole tobacco alkaloids (e-cigs don't have) and the extra nicotine may help you to quit. I used it for a few months during a rough patch while also vaping. It isn't like chew/snuff... no spitting and is pretty much undetectable by others when you use it (it is in a small tea bag like packet). More info can be found on the forum here Smokeless tobacco - E-Cigarette Forum

I have mods which help (especially with the fiddly battery issues!). The Chuck is great (is custom designed with your own graphics and has a 1 year warranty!!! $80 shipped, about 4 weeks for order/delivery). I have several and love them. THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing! and the Silver Bullet has terrific reviews. I just bought one (but know several in my social group who have them, and I've tried them). They just went on a pre-order sale for $84.99! AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizers - Ecigs : The Yeti, JOYE510, DSE901 and More! No idea when it will ship. You can't go wrong with either one.

Tornado doesn't quite get to 3.7v but has other factors that make it good. I have one and like it a lot. If you want to experience true 3.7v peak voltage (as good on vapor as any 5V where you have to dumb down attys and hence lose in ohms what you gain in volts), and for a pretty good price, try a Bartleby mod for $50. You already have the attys - so order a 510 version and pick yourself up a usb wall plug (and car plug if you drive a lot).

Bartleby

video - read the feedback in the later pages...

Car DC to USB Adapter 1000mA

The mod has an internal charger and an on/off switch for travel - few mods have that. Very compact box mod. Gets the job done for this 3 pack/day smoker.

How do you think the rest of us got through this? If I didn't have the help of this board even before I started posting, I felt at home and a kinship with other new people. You will get there. I can read the determanation!!Maybe a little desperation too, but that is normal! Hey I used to treat the mentally ill and I declared you normal!!! See nothing to worry about.

Is your wife a smoker too? If not that makes it harder on you.:D

No matter how much we smoked the addiction is still there. I know my daughter smoked 3 cigs a day. (Why bother) and it took her months to finally quit. No matter if its mental ,physical or what ever, any addiction is hard to over come.

I wish you and your wife the best of luck. And try to relax, your stressing yourself out which will make it harder on yourself. Keep in touch and let us know how your doing. We never put anyone down for slipping. We all have. Remember it is a prossess not a race. It doesn't matter how fast you get to the fisnish line. It only matters that you do. and we will be here to help you.
Seems like none of us watch TV anymore :thumbs:LOL It is more inportant to help others the way we were helped. Believe it or not it actually becomes fun.

I have seen pictures of a chuck that just blew up. There is a section for chuck users, I would ask them what caused it and how to avoid it. I believe it was an unusal occurance, or wrong batteries. Just please check into it. That is out of my realm of expertise. But they are nice looking. Just find out why that one blew up and if any others did. OK? I just knew by talking to you for a short time tonite you would not be happy until you got a mod. So do so, but do some research first.:) I am a lot like you when I have my mind made up about someting forget about talking me out of it.
I am looking for one too. I want the precise. Thats the next addiction , you want to have them all. Thats the problem I am working on now.:(

You probably are missing something. I vaped like mad at first looking for "something"
finally it quit and I am down to a more reasonable level.

The something I was looking for was the other chemicals in cigs that isnt there now. They can be addicting too.

Take it easy guy! If you have to smoke now and then go for it, eventually most people just end up quitting naturally, I ended up quitting really by accident. Just forgot to smoke real cigs for a couple days and never went back to them.

I had gotten over the addiction to the other things in tobacco and just didnt want it anymore,

Turned out the guy was using non-rechargable 3v batteries (primary cell) and put them in a charger. OOOOpssss!

Wasn't a problem with the Chuck... was USER error. If you are going to use Li-Ion batteries or battery mods, you need to read, understand the chemistry of the batteries, how to handle them right and order good batteries (and make sure you are ordering the right thing). He ordered from a website that wasn't specific about what he was getting (in China).

If you plan to vape 6v, you better know what you're doing. I've never seen a single battery report of blowing up in a mod (they certainly can vent, but not blow up). After a year here, I've only seen a handful of reports of 6v going bad, and one that was fairly serious. It was another case of draining one battery while having full charge in the 2nd battery. The unit gave him warning (no vapor) and he kept trying to get it to hit. Batteries should be paired and checked often if you are planning to vape at 6v.

The Chuck is an awesome unit. I have 4 of the ThagBuilt units. Highly recommended!

You are down from 3 packs a day to half a pack - guy that IS a success already right there!
Why the rush? Take things at your own pace, if it takes you a bit to get rid of your smokes then it does - not everyone will give up as soon as they vape. Heck at least half of us had no INTENTION of quitting, didn't buy my PV to quit. I bought mine to cut DOWN - well ive cut down to none now but it took me around 10 days (that's when i started my signature ticker thing I think or jsut after that).
I am still a little mystified taht I don't smoke cigs any more, not unhappy, I prefer vaping, but quitting was neevr my intention.
Don't beat yourself over the head with the ones you ARE smoking mate - look at all the ones you AREN'T smoking!
Well done well done - you are doing very well indeed.
Be a bit kinder to yourself though eh? :)
