I didn't read this whole thread, just saw the first post. I have set up donation pages on Facebook for friends that have had their house broken into, or had it burn down. One gal I collected 2500 for, another person 650. It's really easy to set up - takes a couple of minutes - and you can have them PayPal the money right into the person's PayPal account.
