Well I've had my 901 for a few days now. And now after the second charge of one of the batteries this is my problem. After I pulled it off the charger I put it on my atomizer and took a drag, lit up but no vapor. So I tried again, still nothing. As I was unscrewing it from the atomizer it started blinking like it would when you plug it into the charger. When I tried to puff on just the battery I didn't get a light at all. So I plugged it back in and same problem, it lit up but no vape. Unscrewing again it started blinking. I tried my other battery and it works great.

Just now for the heck of it I tried puffing on the batt, no light. I tried blowing through the holes on the led cap and same thing no light. But when I plug it in and take a drag it lights up but nothing else. And it still blinks while unscrewing it from the atomizer. I've looked all over the board and haven't seen anything else like this. I contacted the store I bought it from but its late and don't expect to get a response until tomorrow. But what would cause this and has anyone else heard of it of had it happen.

Try charging it again, paying no attention to the red and green lights. Charge it for 2-3 hours or more.

Then try wiping off the contact area on the atomizer and the battery.
Then try blowing gently into the battery LED for about 2 seconds, then blowing into the other end, repeat. THis might wiggle the connection into a better spot.

If it still doesn't work, drain your atomizer and try a different atomizer.

This happens to my mini a lot. I just fiddle with it, as described above, and it keeps ressurecting. Sometimes all the atomizers are affected, sometimes only one. But so far I haven't had to trash any parts.

I gave it a try and it is a sad sad thing I have to tell you.
They are no longer with us.:( I'm sending them back where they came from for repairs.

There is definitely some problem with the batteries lately! Go to a usb and power pack so you wont have to buy any, unless you want to. Contact your supplier and send them back.

Sad to say, I got so tired of it I just gave my 901 to a relative and moved on, regardless of the fact that I have a power supply and a usb. Not worth all the hassle of the batteries that I like to use on occasion when I dont want the cords attached.

You know the more I think about it and get angry about those batteries. Maybe you might want to just go to the Screwdriver. The Screwdriver is reccomended for serious vapers who have tried all the others and are not satisfied. It is not the pretty little cigarette shaped thing alot of people want to flaunt. It is a serious vaping machine for serious previous smokers. It is not, and has not been first reccomended as you may be one of the few, who vaping is not for them.

So if you are a serious previous smoker and really want to make the change, are not interested in just flaunting a cig look alike here is the site read up. It is not inexpensive, but It will pay for its self in no time compared to analoges. Just dont start complaining to Trog if you havent paid your dues and went through the rest of the junk. If you have a serious defect (yah, no one is perfect) contact him directly through his site. Otherwise revel in the top notch, handmade, small batch origional supplier with great customer service, and fellow vaper with a solution, you have just been lucky to find so early in your vaping experience. Good Luck to you. ecigscrewdriver.com Read up and make your own informed decision...

I orderd all the power packs and the usb passthroughs and a wall usb thing. I'm so grateful to you for your help. I really do like the 901 and have invested a lot into it. In time, if still available, I may look into the screwdriver.

Every now and then I've noticed the 901's charger LED go green without actually charging anything. My theory is that it's due to poor electrical contact with the battery. Try cleaning the battery contacts and charging again.

Good idea, I'll give that a try. Thanks
What do you clean the contacks with?

My first 901 came from Vapor Guys and they were what I am calling the older battery style with the 'suction' type switch, they work just fine. My second 901 order from someone else came with what I think is the new style, with the 'MIC' switch. I totally HATE them. At first I liked them because the draw was easier. However, the turn on all the time! Noise turns them on, wind turns them on, put them in your pocket and walk and them rubbing around will turn them on.

I need to find a supplier that still uses the old 'suction' type switch!?!?!?!?????

Anyone have a link to the power pack that was brought up?

Thanks

Also, here is a pic of the new batteries. Notice the hole size difference on the batteries. Although I guess that really doesn't matter much as the air that is used to create the vapor comes into the hole on the 901 atomizer correct?

95% of PV batteries are not strong enough for their intended use. You need 1000mAh output to get consistent performance. The 901 for example puts out about 250mAh. then you have the problem with the automatic switch that get's stuck or cuts off after a 5 second drag. To get consistent good performance, your options are limited:

1. Buy a screwdriver like I and many others did on this forum. Plus you get 8 hours of battery like between charges and a manual switch.
2. Get a USB pass-through and connect it to a power pack that has 1000+mAh or a wall outlet USB charger.
3. Make a mod like the guys in the mod forum.

Just FYI I have had exactly the same problem as the OP with a new 901 battery (Just over a week old). Luckily I am in the process of returning it due to me only having had it recently. Just a guess here, but could part of the battery that controls the power to the atomizer be shorting out while the part that controls power to the LED be OK?

Not an answer to the problem I know, but just trying to work out why the end light works ok

Have also noticed that when putting this battery into a charger the green charge light comes on like its fully charged, even though it isn't

Don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I kept getting new batteries for my 901. The new batteries would work great for a week, then they would do that thing where they light up, but do not produce vapor. Well, after cleaning the contacts with cloth, and trying alcohol and just about everything else, I decided to take a closer look. After taking apart one of my batteries. I noticed that the inside contact was isolated from the outside contact by a small silicon ring. Basicly this ring holds the center contact in place by friction. It turns out that the charger was pushing the center contact back just enough for it to not make contact with the atomizer.

All I had to do was slip a paper clip gently into the hole on the battery contact, and wiggle it back and forth a bit. This instantly cleared up the problem on all of my batteries.

Just thought I'd post it in case it helps anyone else... I was searching through the forum like mad for a solution and never found one. Not that one wasn't posted, but I never found one.

Three of us got 901s and out of the 6 batteries we were only able to get one to work by beating on the desk. The other folks returned them and got replacements which all had the same problem but we got two of that batch to work most of the time with the desktop slam and blowing into them before taking a vape.

They ordered batteries from another source and those seem to be fine. Rather than return mine for more crap batteries, I'll order from the same place they got theirs.

May I ask where you got the good ones, and do they have chrome/stainless?

I'd have to ask the girls downstairs, I just haven't gotten to it with a good 801 and 510 :).

Did ship mine back just to see what happens, so far not a word from them :(. I rather expect to get back more of the same battery wise, but perhaps I'll get replacements for the atomizers that the funky batteries either ate or were funko in the first place.
