I know this has been discussed before, but here I am at the 1 month point and I am breaking out into zits. I'm 43 - this is not supposed to happen anymore, lol!

I know it goes away, but here's my concern: Since I have been vaping, I have noticed a "film" on my skin. Like a residue that come from vaping juice. This is especially prevalent around my nose (which gets a little moist when I blow vapor out of it.) I use 50/50 juice. I'd really prefer not to go higher on the PG.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Not clear here? Are we drinking or Vapeing the liquid???

Lol, sorry but I do like a good pun. I've read many posts on this being related to withdrawal of toxins, time factor is subjective however. Check the Health forum for other results.

I'm not a doctor nor do i play one on the Internet. Best of luck to yah OP.

There only one issue I've had which I've been able to distinguish from quitting smoking. That is dry mouth.

Other symptoms,
Light headed
Acne/infection of skin
Chest pain
Paranoia :)
Cramps
Farts
Craps
Swollen lip
Cracked lip
Argumentative :)
Shortness of breadth
Swollen gums
Heart burn

I'm pretty happy with being argumentative and having the farts. Paranoia is mild and comes and goes, Probably normal for logic followers.

I never had zits as a kid or an adult (and my 4 sisters HATED me for that..), but on month 2 of vaping, I noticed I had several little bumps on my shoulders. They felt like zits, but were never red, etc., they were little bumps. Now that i'm coming up on month 4 of no cigs, just vaping, I've noticed they've begun to fade to only a few.

But until just now, I never connected them bumps with my quitting smoking.

I am definitily hydrated - I drink A LOT of water. We're talking about one of those giant Circle K (convenience store) 64 oz. jugs FULL of water - 2-3 times a day.

I really wonder about the residue from the vapor. It's the same feeling on my face as when I get a little juice on my fingers when changing attys (like an oily/plasticky residue). I don't want to have to wash my face throughout the day (uh, makeup!) but it's summer and I'm off work, so if I need to, well . . .

I'm having the same issues, but without the zits(oily, inflamed face). Among other things, try this (it's helping me):

2X a day washing with Dr Bronners Hemp and Tea Tree Oil soap, followed with either Organic unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (at night cause it STINKS!) and/or 100% natural Witch Hazel, and finish up with a generous slathering of Virgin Coconut Oil.

I'm also experimenting with 100% VG unflavored juice.

All of these are helping reduce the redness/pain and are making my skin super smooth and soft. It seems also to be helping the oil accumulation. And they're all really good for your skin.

Good Luck!

Thanks - Dr. B's really dries me out, but I have the witch hazel. I've been using Trader Joe's moisturizer. Dunno about the vingar - I think I'd keep waking up smelling ketchup! LOL

Do you know if the coconut oil can clog pores (I think they have that at TJ's too.)

You might try blotting your skin with a tissue or the blotting cloths they sell in the makeup department. Both VG and PG leave a film, just like the stuff you would find around a fog machine after running it for awhile. Both are also used in various make ups, lotions, soaps, etc.

Also, over use of drying soaps, chemical astringents, etc. will actually make oil production worse, not better. The more you dry out your skin the more oil it produces, catch 22. Your best bet is a mild cleanser at at night with spot treatment for any bumps, and then a warmish water rinse in the morning when you get up followed by an oily skin formulated moisturizer with at least SPF 15.

Believe me, I know about dry skin--I have eczema, so I have to be super careful about what I put on my skin. I can't even use over the counter creams designed for eczema. The Dr B's does tighten and can dry the face out, but the TT Oil is the kicker--it's an anti-bacterial/anti-fungal and just really good for just about anything. If you use the Witch Hazel toner and CO after you won't dry out.

Coconut Oil will not clog your pores as long as it hasn't been processed (ie, Virgin). Plus, you're sloughing off the dead skin and removing sources of bacteria prior to applying it.

Be careful with moisturizers, as they will likely have ingredients that can dry out your skin (and irritate, causing you to use more and more).
