Here's a tricky question.............

I'm going to Reading music festival in August. Which means that i'm going to be away from mains power for at least 4 days.

I'm guessing the only way to vape my way through is to take a load of batteries ready charged and swap them as needed. Or to use an APC power pack and passthrough?

Have I overlooked anything simple that would save me from taking the European battery mountain with me? (preferably without smoking analogs)

Not unless you get an extra power pack to go along with those batteries. I have 2 and the 2nd one comes in handy for long times away from home.

You also might want to think about what some have said about loud music killing atomisers.

You mentioned a power pack in your original post. The Kensington Ultra Power Pack will certainly help you out with a USB pass through, but not for several days. Take plenty of batteries and hope for the best. I would take some Valium and Jack Daniels whiskey to counteract the uncomfortable equation that you face.

I was going to suggest a solar panel, but then I noticed that you're going to Reading festival in August so that's right out.

Would it be possible to adapt a wind-up torch to use its internal battery to charge an e-cig battery? I have a feeling it would take a lot of cranking but it might work.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'll start saving up for the batteries now lol.

I'm not so keen on the valium but i'm certainly with you on the Jack Daniels.

There is also an 'oxygen' bar there this year too selling different flavours of oxygen for you to inhale. I'd love to see your FDA try to ban that one!

Go to one of those Camping supply outfits and look for a portable powere sorces, such as windup or solor. they have some small things that may work.

I'm going to a festival next month, and since we're already bringing a ton of gear, I thought I'd bring one of these for charging (note the 12v car outlet for the charger or inverter)

I haven't tried it yet, but I think I can make it work

Maybe one of those emergency battery starter packs with a dc to usb adaptor. Don't know how heavy they are though.

I know someone adapted one to charge a cell phone, so there's a chance. Please let us know what you find out.

I came across this hand-crank charger for cell phones. It'd need a bit of modding to step down the voltage but it might do the job.

Unless you are not going to be near a car, just get a power inverter. You can pick one up for about $30.

I say car charger to recharge the batteries.. but I have a Kensington power pack I use with a passthru and it lasts me 2-3 days... more if I don't use it too frequently. They are about $50... but buying two would solve your problem I think You could even buy two and then when u get back... sell them on the classifieds here for $40 each and make back some of your $.

I've just found out that they have lockers for hire over the festival that have a 12v supply for recharging phones in them - all I need is to take my car adaptor and no analogs for me.
