You need a mixture of silver to solder. Mostly 5 to 45% is silver. The higher the silver content, the hotter it needs to get. And 35 to 45% is needed for unlike metals. ie copper to stainless.
I would stick to twisting the wires.

Yep. The Carl Special. I ordered on Thursday night. Got my shipping notification yesterday morning. Hope to get it by Tuesday. Got kinda screwed by CoV when they shipped my Penelope with 2mm wick and they have been sold out since. They had the wick a couple of times but they sent out the notifications late at night so I was never able to pick any up. Plus from what I have heard they sold out in a matter of minutes (barely in the double digits).

Kanthal A was available on wires.co.uk for a very short time and i actually jumped in and ordered one of each .15,16,17,20 but then it suddenly disappeared. It was either sold out way too fast or they had a reason to pull it that i would love to know...
