Respectfully, While hermeneutics may be a tool, it certainly isn't a "basic one". This would imply that all believers must follow your thought process in order to grow as a believer. It also places the scholar on a level higher than the "uneducated" believers. I just don't agree with that.

Again, respectfully, if you were not doing this with some small internal motive of self... you would not be so offended. I'm not suggesting that anyone is wrong for having mixed motives... it is a fact of life. But when we become offended because someone has innocently rejected our offering... that is our issue of self, not theirs.

With regards to judging others as though they "don't want to learn". Might I suggest that they may have a deep desire to learn. They might have a different process than you. And to brand them because you can't understand why they would not follow your process is inappropriate. The other side of that coin is.... perhaps your abundance of information was a little overwhelming.

No need to be offended. Some will appreciate what you have to offer. Some won't. If your offering is truly because it is simply on your heart... then there will be minimal offense when someone questions it or does not want to receive it.

You are a valuable member here. Your insight is keen and we respect you for that.

Condescending and respectful all at the same time.

For the better welfare of the group, I won't be posting here anymore. It is impossible to attempt to teach, edify and argue at the same time. It is simply not necessary. I'll pop in and read but that will be my limit. I thank God for you all.

I didn't forget about you LL. Since you don't really do any of the type things I do to celebrate Christmas, I hope you at least kick up your feet for a few days, and get some rest in preperation of a whole new year. Have a good one. It's going to be a Nerf warzone here for the next few days lol. So I'll be posting here and there whilst nerf darts are zinging past by face.

Thanks Uba!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):):):)

Comment by Eve: These are exactly the dynamics involved that brought about the whole discourse on my behalf with SG.... but I didn't set out to be disrespectful.. however in re-reading my posts they sure sound that way to me, and I deeply regret and apologize for that.

I love  you also SG... and I'm sorry for the methods I used for trying to make the points Hy so eloquently stated. (Hy you may not be a mind reader & may not have been speaking necessarily for me or on my behalf, but in this particular instance you were and did..)
There's really no excuse for my behavior except I, (like you and others on this board) are really struggling to win this war to win souls for Christ, and in so doing sometimes get caught up in the cross hairs of the enemy that manifests in feelings getting hurt and offenses. Again I apologize for my part in these, of which I admit I am guilty.

Sometimes, counting to 10 - or even to 100 - before posting - is helpful. And, other times, waiting until the next day is even better. Emotions are difficult to keep in check, but sometimes waiting a bit before posting saves on apologies or bad feelings later on.

Very wise & sound advice. :)
