Heron V1 problems.

so I’ve been trying to fix this atty for forever. I’ve got so close to a stable reading yet when I fire my kanthal it increases intermittently from 1.11 to 1.19. I don’t know why and I wonder if anybody has an insight into why it is doing this.
Res increases as the coil gets hot and then goes back down while resting. I thought kanthal doesn’t do this and it happens on none of my other attys. any ideas?

The only reason kanthal should fluctuate like that may be that the legs of your coil aren't screwed down tightly enough. Either that, or when you trimmed the legs, perhaps it wasn't quite close enough, and you have an end touching the post. I'm assuming neither is true in this case given you've had plenty of experience coilbuilding. I'm not sure if your atty is to blame or not, I don't own one.

Have you tried using a different type of wire and build? Maybe try SS and see what happens? Your atty may run better with a different type of wire, or SOMETHING. I feel like I'm not offering great advice, but perhaps there is something defective about it, so trying different builds and seeing how they behave might help?

Kanthal does change in resistance when its heated but not as much as other types of wire
