Just received my wetbox with imr14500 batteries. It works awesome! Quick question...
I tried the battery without the spacer and it still works. Are they served as a different purpose other than to compensate for the length? Is is safe to use the battery without it?

Just for the length. If you don't need it, just hang on to it for future use.
Can't have enough spacers...
