I been watching this mom and dad eagle raising their chicks and thought I'd share it with anyone interested in wildlife. It's kinda windy way up in that tree today but mom is keeping the little ones safe. It's a great project and I'm really enjoying watching mom and dad feed these little guys fish and turtles among other delicious treats.

I'm fortunate enough to just be able to look out my window to see a few bald eagles. A couple of hours ago, a pair of crows were harassing an Eagle hoping he would drop all or part of the gopher he was eating. They didn't get so much as a scrap.

If I look out another window, there is an Osprey nest about 300 yards away toward the lake. They are interesting and entertaining too. They aren't back yet from wherever they winter, but I expect them any day now.

And, there is a nice pheasant rooster under my truck right this moment. I'm looking forward to eating him in the fall if the coyotes don't get him ;)

Very cool six! I'd spend much of my time watching out the windows if I were you!

It is even better just being out among the critters. The windows are great - but when you can smell and hear the wildlife as well as see them, it's a little better.

We live on the West Slope of the Big Belt Mountains in Montana. In the last 24 hours, I have seen elk, white tail deer, mule deer, moose, antelope, mountain sheep, hawk, great horned owl, snowy owl, fox, coyote, bald eagle, golden eagle, turkey, pheasant, grouse, snow goose, duck, skunk, racoon, beaver, and a mountain lion. There were certainly other critters I didn't make any sort of mental note about, and different weather conditions bring out different critters (surprisingly, I haven't seen any bear sign yet - and the snakes are still in their dens etc). We are blessed with an abundance of wildlife here (sometimes cursed - critters can be problematic in a lot of ways).

I tried living in town a couple of times in my life. It's not for me.
