Hello everyone! New forum member and a soon to be vaper here. Just a little about myself, I'm 25 and from the Chicagoland area. I've been smoking since I was 15, at first it was only socially but soon after I turned 18 my habit quickly hit 1.5 packs a day and stayed there through out my first years of college. During the past year and a half I've been trying to cut back, largely because of how expensive cigs are around Chicago now. $8+ a pack if I'm within or near Cook County, just below $7 closer to my house. And of course there is always talk about increasing the taxes even more. It's getting ridiculous, even at my current half a pack a day habit. Combine that with gas prices that are on par with the highest in the nation and you can see why I kick myself at times for living here. But regardless, I love the Chi, nobody does it like us. 
My girlfriend and I decided we'd try out e-cigarettes recently, so I get to be the guinea pig for this adventure. My girlfriend is much more of a social smoker than I am though, so it'll be interesting to see how our e-cig needs differ. Both of us want to quit nicotine altogether eventually, however for right now we are kind of looking towards vaporizers as a healthier and cheaper way to "smoke".
I really want to say thank you to you guys at this forum. I gotta admit I was totally lost when I dove into all of this monday afternoon. In my ignorance I almost bought one of those $130 starter kits with a sub par PV. Luckily I found a thread here strongly suggesting against that model and the ton of info about the world of PVs in general at this site. After spending a few hours absorbing as much info around here as I could, I purchased an eGo starter kit, blank carts, and 7 juices shipped all for less than half of the cost of the kit I almost bought. I got the email that the package was sent out today so hopefully come this weekend or early next week I'll be able to post my first impressions. Thank you guys for setting me on the right track and saving me a ton of money without even knowing it!
