hey everyone + an upgrade question (ego-> maxi roughstack V2)

Been looking around the forum for a while now but haven't joined till recently.

Here's my question, I started with an ego, then went from there to LR attys, then to my current which consists of an ego VV battery with dual coil echo-e cartos (1.6-1.7 ohm).

I was looking around and wanted opinions/comments/suggestions on either to upgrade my ego(if so, to what and why?) or whether to go with a mod? The thing i'm looking for is primarily more throat hit, which is lacking on my ego and more vapor/cleaner flavors would be nice as well.

I was thinking of something like the Maxi Roughstack V2 due to it's variability in voltage, positive reviews, and low price tag (i'm a student about to start med school in a year so money is a constant issue lol)

any opinions/comments are welcome, or if you have a link to some good comparisons I'd love to see them

Hiya Phate. Welcome to ECF!

The eGo VV gives you a nice range already (3.2-4.2v if I'm not mistaken), so if you want more throat hit you can either reduce the VG in your juice, try a juice with inherently more TH (menthols, pineapple, high citrus, cinnamon, etc.), increase the nic (not a good idea if you're comfortable with where you're at now), try a different carto (I've heard that top-coil cartos like the Fluxomizers give more TH due to the coil being so close to the top), or simply get more volts through your cartos. I think you're on the right track.

The Roughstack is very well reviewed, & seems to be a simple, no-frills mod that works great, & with so many different battery combos you're right, the voltage options are nice. It's hard to beat 40 bucks in the mod world.

If you want to go even lower, I recently received this, the Shine Mod, & it is working just as well for me as my $85 Prodigy v3.1. Sure, it isn't as refined, but it's a very folksy mod which I wanted. Bill (Bill_r around these parts) makes them by hand & it is now my go-to mod for times when I just want to throw it in my pocket with keys & change without having to worry about the wear & tear, since it has signs of being handmade anyway. At 6v it hits like a beast with my Smok DCC 1.5's.

Which by the way, as some people here on ECF may have seen in my previous posts, I'm a huge proponent of the dual-coils @ 6v. If it's throat hit that you're looking for, try it. It burns through your juice like there's no tomorrow & you have to ensure to keep your cartos moist to prevent popping the coils, but it is truly throat hit bliss.

That has as much to do with your nic juice as the hardware. What do you currently vape? I've been using PinkSpotVapors & VaporsEtc juice regularly and it is really delicious and clean burning. I just recently ordered some of Bill's juice as well & am in the middle of vaping their Heeth Bar, & it is so far amazing. I may add ParkesVaping juice to the rotation if the rest of the flavors are as good.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

The Roughstack is a solid mod and does everything that a silver bullet can do. Although, it doesn't look as "good" in comparison. You can change batteries with a simple switch of batteries. Ex. 3.7V = 18650, 5V = 4.8 nihm, 6V = CR123

So, you will get more of everything but, you will have to buy different cartos/atties to match the voltage. I've also heard that there were problems with the switch but, I'm sure they've corrected that problem by now. If not, then it can easily be changed and they sell replacement switches on the website.

Overall, if your looking for a mod then tube shaped ones are gonna be logically the next choice after the ego. Unless, you like tanks then bottom feeders will be great.

Right now I'm vaping some dekang desert ship, hangsden menthol, a couple tasty vapor customs, and i'm trying some of lone wolf esmokes samples

Any tips for bringing out the flavors more (or links, if it's been answered 100x lol), mine seem to be a bit weak on the flavors which is probably something to do with me
