Good afternoon, from the Midwest area!! I've been smoking cigs for ohhhh about 18 years. Started out with a few smokes here and there and as of 2 days ago, I was up to just over a pack a day AND vaping. I'll get into that in a sec. My mother wanted me to quit smoking cigarettes really bad so she got me one of those OMG Starter packs.. Looks like a cigarette but had little cartridges that I found annoying and couldn't keep track of charging the two batteries I had. That was 2 years ago and basically they ended up in my nightstand..
Last year, around November I purchased an extra battery (ego kind, not labeled it's just blue...) with some random little kit made by *Vapor 123*. I actually still have the original battery but the tank it came with got annoying and leaked. But I found it to help me stop craving cigs. So I went to a local smoke shop and was recommended a different tank. No idea what the manufacturer was, but it vaped better'ish, lol.
Around February this year I got an eVod or whatever style tank (brushed silver with clear plastic mouth piece and two slits to check my fluid levels-- help with id the brand..) and was using an oil like e-liquid (vanilla) and was going through a bottle and a wick every week. In April, with the costs of wicks, cigs (pack a day) and fluid, I got frustrated.. vaping was fun, and seemed a bit better. I got a sales job and was able to vape while working which is obviously a plus, lmao. A coworker had various flavors and she recommended the type of fluid. Which seemed to be clear and kind of thick. But I soon noticed that my wicks lasted a couple of weeks. So that was a plus!!
A month later a new vape store opened up and checked it out. I was impressed at the setup and quickly noticed it wasn't a headshop, lol. I tried several flavors and picked one up at 10ml, 24mg. Well whatcha know, I didn't have to change the wick. The liquid didn't clog my coils up and lasted till I noticed cracks in the mouthpiece plastic. They wern't leaking, but I went to the store and they exchanged it out. So a few weeks ago I was using two batteries and this eVod tank. But still smoking just under a pack a day.
This now brings me to this last few days.
I went into the store to look for a new battery, as the first battery I had couldn't hold a charge to save my life. There were tons of options but saws checking out a larger battery. See photos of my two setups. I picked out a red battery that looked like a military grade and style flashlight. I've seen reviews that it looks like bamboo. Well I couldn't argue, it felt great in my hand and so far has only been charged once! It had 3 settings, 5 clicks for 3 different voltages. And I loved it. I am still unsure of the manufacturer of the battery and will be calling later to find out. I think it's an Ego x6, I'll have to call the shop and ask.
This brings me now to the last few days. My eVod tank looked silly on such a larger battery. I started researching different style tanks and all that. Eventually I just went into the shop and was recommended the KangerTech Protank 3. Very nice tank, just seemed at the moment that it may break. But I've already dropped it and, well, no cracks or leaks. Nothing happened! I can write a review on it later and save your eyes.
Tried to post and was logged out, or whatever so I lost what I had written after that last paragraph, but I'll finish this "thesis on my intro to vaping" ......
As of yesterday, after getting a bit used to changing the voltage here and there I am officially off smokes. YEAH, that's right. The last smoke I had was at 9:30am my time (Midwest). I'm having fun with my setup and having a few issues too, but I'll post on that later. I'm just excited to have quit smoking cigs, and now more interested in vaping and what my future holds for me!!!
Hows that for my intro? LOL!!
