I'm going to echo what a lot of others have said, which is that you did just fine! My first vape was a Blu, followed by my "big step up" to a cigalike from Halo. I thought I was doing pretty good with that until I found ECF. Bottom line, they did the trick and analogs are disgusting to me. Now I'm using an MVP 2 and love it (after a brief affair with the iTaste VV/VW 3). Do I still use my cigalikes? Yes! If your eGo is working for you now, go with it - just know that it will be your handy back-up when you buy something fancy :) Congrats on your choice to go with an eGo and quit the stinkies for good!

There is nothing wrong with that set up at all. I used an ego set up for almost 3 years (during which I continued to smoke :( ). I have recently quit and now have been getting into mods and rba's. It's all just about preference and what you are wanting. If you're the kind of person that needs the biggest and best, you will outgrow that setup very quickly. If you just want something that works and is reliable, that is a solid kit. VV options are always nice with the ego's but are not mandatory. You can always start off trying different cartos and attys. The main thing is never be ashamed of your set up as long as you are staying analog free! There will be plenty of time for upgrades with your new, longer lasting, life!

hey! :) ive been vaping since 2009 and I still use ce4s once and a while. perferable I use evod tanks and protanks though. look into the protank... its affordable and the coils are replaceable and cheap. ce4 is not replaceable... ce5 is. ce5 coils are also affordable. dont vape cinnamon or sour eliquid in a plastic non glass tank. the plastic tanks like the ce4 literally melt.

If a CE4 has been available in the English speaking world for four years then I must have blinked too many times.

I can only WISH I'd have had a CE4 when I started vaping in 2011!

I remember it more like this:
Poking needles in a $20 Ego T atty trying to make it work. Getting a grand total of half a day use before the coil burned out!

Endless vids of 'carto filling' methods...swinging things around on strings to 'push the juice down'...begging the local pharmacist for a fist full BD syringes to 'fill and clean' cartos with. WAY over paying for little shampoo bottles with blunt tip syringe needles super glued on the top. Needing a magnifying glass and a dentist pick to pull out a dozen little plugs and washers getting to the little 'filler hole' so you could 'shoot' the juice in with a syringe...or...you could sit there patiently and dribble in eliquid a drop at the time and pray it went in the right grove or hole. Constantly finding a fist full liquid pooled up in your battery connection.

Paying $5 for a delrin drip tip!
37 different 'thread types' to sort through (901, 801, 510, 897-911XXX, etc....)

Blue Foam from the pet store....
Teabags.....
Packing all sorts of weird stuff in the carts for $12 atomizers that you were lucky to still be able to suck air through after a day of vaping.

PG Alcohol...
Ultrasonic cleaners...
Denture tablets...

3 or 4 places bothered to carry the CE2...they sold out in minutes despite a really bad clear tank that would start crumble in your fingers after a dozen fires of the atty....so we picked up BD syringes to cut up and make new tanks from.

The 'ego' Giantomizer...with the mouthpiece that would not stay in...leaked live a sieve. That's more what I remember from four years ago.

We BEGGED for the same thing with metal casings instead of clear plastic...one or two places bothered to carry them...they'd sell out in a few hours.

A CE4 isn't 'that' old..and even if it were...the parts that make vape haven't changed that much!

You did pretty dawg gone well considering :)

I can only wish there'd have been a CE4 in 2011.......................

The mistake would have been buying the insanely overpriced Blu kits. But if you look at it like opening the world of vaping to you then the price doesn't matter as much. The kit got you off cigarettes and opened the vaping world to you, that's what matters. Now you get to spend endless hours reading posts and reviews to decide what you want next. :) An ego and a clearo (ce4) have their place, say you're running around, maybe at a place like Disneyland, you don't really want to be carrying something you'd mind losing, so take the clearo and the ego, at least that's what I would do or something similar.

Any choice is better than a analog! You still have plenty of time to get a Provari! (Lol) Almost everyone starts out with something similar to what you have. Take the above mentioned advice and read, watch and hit the local shops in you're area. Buy a few different type tanks and see what you like, not what I do. My dad uses the same tank and loves it. I've bought him several different more expensive ones he never uses. You're gonna be fine, good luck and welcome.

You are awesome just because of the fact that you quit smoking!!! You bought a perfectly good set up. You will probably upgrade later but for now as long as it keeps you from smoking that's all that matters!
I know some vapers can be a little bit snobby and think that you aren't a 'real' vaper if you don't use the right equipment. I totally disagree. I think that as long as you are not smoking it does not matter what you are using. I think that the more people who convert the better! I don't care what you use as long as you don't smoke!!
You are awesome- you quit smoking!!!!

Is it not all bad choices that land us here??? ;)

Bwahahaha!!!!

I bought my first GreenSmoke kit in December 2009, wasn't too happy with it, started looking for more in-depth reviews, found ECF and promptly returned my kit... The rest is history...

How true, Rose.

so i am kind of echoing the things everyone here has said however my story is mildly different...

my first knowledge of ecigs came about from a buddy who bought a blu kit while we were in south korea. the appeal of "smoking" (i didnt consider it vaping at the time) in my barracks room during an exercise was out of this world to me... so much better than tossing on a full kit (body armor, helmet, etc etc) just to go outside to have a smoke...

i was leaving korea soon though so i didnt order anything... a few months after being state side and getting settled in somewhere, about feb or march 2010, i invested in an overly priced cigalike kit from the mall, it was awesome and i loved it, for about a monthish, however i loved smoking not so much for the nicotine... and was overusing the cigalike and giving myself awful nicotine headaches and i gave up on it entirely...

fast forward to sept this year, money is tight, and the sales pitch for me was its cheaper than smoking... ended up dropping more than i would have liked (compared to online prices) on an ego vv mega 1200mah and an evod kit... did a little bit of research to try and prevent the same thing with the cigalike from happening...

i had tried a couple of "toots" on other peoples set ups throughout the time and wasnt displeased... and well big fan of my set up...

learned the dangers of a plastic tank and pulled the trigger on a mini protank 2 after seeking as much knowledge from people here...

I am happy with my little ego... i do intend to invest in an itaste svd in the very near future which by the way happy i saw it in a store before buying because i thought it was bigger than it is (really not as big as i thought)

im working on the sales pitch with my wife (who i converted and is using an engraved ego with my evod/ts3 and a mini protank in the mail...) the svd will be the ohm meter when i start rebuilding coils for us...

but all in all i want the svd for a step up, the dependability, the ease of just changing a battery to keep it going... not sure if the svd would be my all time device... my ego might still take the place of the svd when at work or out and about... but i dont know yet...

i do enjoy my eGo though, just got my diy set up... slowly working on it to avoid discouragement... and somehow i believe my ikenvape io6 is failing me... it feel very warm and devoid of flavor... i believe somehow i am either using it wrong or it is faulty...

anyways congrats and take your time... make sure what you want is really what you want before getting it...

i wanted the svd before, now that i know it is a decent size and not "huge" i really really really really want it now...

Hey guys,

First off thank you all for responding and welcoming me. I can tell by the responses that you are all very nice as well as knowledgeable people. My first week of vaping has had it's ups and downs mainly because of me.

I cracked my Clearomizer a few days after I purchased my kit. I didn't realize they were not meant to be screwed on tight. This also lead to me stripping one of me eGo batteries threads. I'm down to 1 battery and 1 clearomizer. However, after some research and information from you guys I have made some purchases!!!:toast:

I got:

2 Protank 2's
2 eGo Spinner 900 maa batteries
2 delerin(spelt wrong im sure) drip tips
5 Replacement heads for my tanks
And a few juices from IVape and Altsmoke

I'll be all set once my packages come. I did find a local (well sort of local shop) that sells vapor and accessories. Catskill Mountain Vapor is about an hour from where I presently live and 30 minutes from the town I grew up in. I will be trying their products as I like supporting local businesses.

Has anyone tried anything (Juice) from them? I'm curious about recommendations.

I truly loved my ego vv v2 mega although it didn't take the beating that I gave it so I need to order another and have it as my at home vape but in the meantime I'm using some old joye 510 batteries with a vivi nova 3.5 ml tank and a 1.8 ohm atty and it works surprisingly well for being 3.7v(?). Anything that works for you though is a good choice!
