Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to vaping. I had a hand-me-down istick 30 watt with a subtank mini on it for a while, and liked the tank a lot so I figured my next step up would be the Kangertech subtank mini kit.
I just want to know if the batteries I'm using is ok for what I'm doing... I haven't had a problem yet, but safety first..
ok so I'm using a .5 ohm coil and usually around 35 w or so... the batteries I'm using are LGhg2 18650s (i think... they are brown) and run 3000mAh 3.7 v
So basically I need to know if this is ok -and also if any one has any links for battery safety and info for me (that isn't super complicated) that would be great!

From a safety standpoint whats important is your batteries continuous amp rating.

For a regulated mod, in VW mode, you calculate the max current draw as Max Amps = Max Wattage / Min Battery Voltage. Min battery voltage is usually calculated using 3.2 volts (this is the point your mod will no longer fire).

So Max Amps = 50 watts/3.2 volts = 15.625 Amps. A 20A CDR battery (like your LG HG2) will allow you to operate safely through the whole range of wattage/voltage of your devise.

The mAh stands for milli-Ampere-hours and indicates how much electric charge the battery can provide. For example, if you discharge your battery through a circuit that requires 1 milli-Ampere of current it will last 3000 hours before the battery runs down (if the mAh of your battery is 3000). The higher the mAh, the longer your battery will last before it needs charging.

If you are interested in learning more about batteries/battery safety check out the blogs by @Baditude & @Mooch (two of ECF's battery experts).

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
LG HE2s will be great in the Subox. I'm on my tab an linking is a pain, but if you will do a forum search for @Mooch you'll find a link in his sig block to an extremely useful battery chart. His blog is also worth reading, as well as that of @Baditude 's.

Sounds like you will do fine with that setup.

Be sure to PM Mooch about those batteries. He has firg more about batteries and battery safety than I will ever know.

Just a FYI. The OP does not have a temperature control mod. The NI-200 cannot cannot be used in the mod that comes with the Subtank Mini Kit.
I am glad I found that out as I was going to trade my friend a tank for my subtank back, but I do not have a temper control mod whereas my other friend who was using the Ni-200 does. Glad I joined this forum :) - sorry to have to posted something that was wrong.

No need to apologize.

I've learned more on this forum (from my mistakes and others) than I have anywhere else.:)
