HEY JACK from www.mountainoakvapors.com

The juice: HEY JACK (hereafter refered to Hey Jack) is a high VG (greater than 60%) medium-bodied maple Cavendish made with 100% natural and organic flavorings.

The Hardware: 1.6 ohm A6 with German silica on a KTS Storm, and Phoenix with ss mesh wick on a VAMO. This juice tasted better to me on the silica set-up; fuller and cleaner than the mesh.

The following attributes are rated from 1 to 5, depending which direction it falls under to my tastes. The overall rating is my personal preference with 5 being best.

Sweetness: 4. Not sickenly sweet, not Bounty Hunter sweet, but very sweet. Many will like the level of sweet, it's at the level of the more sweeter NETs like Dragon's Fire from HHV. To me though, it's sweeter than it needs to be and distracts from the tobacco. Higher watts lessens the sweetness, but sadly seems to mute all the flavors without bringing out more tobacco. Maybe if the tobacco was stronger it could balance out better for me. Pendragon and Sunday Morning from them is also sweet, but with more tobacco impact, and with those I could raise the heat to get more tobacco and less sugar.

Tobacco Impact: 2.5. A very mellow, easy-going Cavendish tobacco with some light smoky notes and, if I look really hard and use my imagination, some light leafy notes. I really like MOV's sweet tobaccos because they are complex without being aggressive, and have a wonderful leafy bite on the exhale that can really be felt when exhaling slowly. This tobacco is different, more of a standard, mild Cavendish. It will appeal to many, but I really want more complexity

Vapability: 3. Like the other MOV NETs, Hey Jack is nice, smooth, and pleasant. Their other NETs are 70/30 pg/vg and this is their first "high VG" NET. The throat hit doesn't suffer though, which can be a problem with some higher vg ratios, so that's nice. It's a good morning vape, and maple is a flavor I can enjoy most of the time. Not the best for long sessions for me, and honestly after vaping it heavily for a few days I'm tiring of it. The sweet is more acceptable after vaping for a while, but lack of complexity doesn't keep it exciting.

Flavor Accuracy: 3.5. Hey Jack has a good, solid maple tobacco flavor. The maple, while good, is unexeptional. Kind of basic, more like pancake syrup than real maple syrup. I'm guessing it's the maple flavor that's often present in real maple Cavendish tobacco, so authenticity may be there. With ejuice however, we can go above and beyond, and MOV does with others, but not so much here.

Overall: 3. Would I maybe give this a better review if this was my first MOV NET or from a less favored by me vendor? Probably. MOV set my expectations high with their other NETs and to keep me happy they'll need to meet or exceed those with new offerings. This is my review so I get to include my expectations, prejudices, and preferences. If someone was looking for recommendations on a good maple NET though, I would erase those and happily suggest this one. It's much better than CravinVapes Maple Spirit Tobacco. On a personal level though; it's a woulda, coulda, shoulda. My least favored MOV NET.
