I am no expert, but like anything electronic, you can get a bad item. I received my 510 on Sep 11th and started using it exclusively. I vape heavy and after 2 months one of my attys failed. A day or 2 later another one failed. I pretty well rotated those out so they had roughly the same use. I keep a couple of spares on hand. I put a new one on my nicostick 2 weeks ago and it is still good. There's a survey somewhere on the forum about how long attys last. I think a month or two is average. Another option would be to use a cartomizer. The atty is incorporated into the cart and they are less expensive to replace. My brother is still using the same cartomizers he got with his KR808D-1 over a month ago. I think an average is 5 to 10 refills for them.

No worries Agnl. Generally, atomizers have a decent life span. Some run longer than others of the same model just because sometimes things don't get made right (such as a car) and since everyone uses them differently (and some abuse them, or run them with high voltage battery units) they can have a shorter life span. Generally, mine last 3 months or more. YMMV I'm not doing anything special, and I vape like a fiend. Maybe the vape fairy likes me, I don't know!? Ha.

So... Welcome to the forum. You might want to start here to learn everything you need to know before selecting your first e-cig.

And I have a question that I really want answered.
So I really want to get an ecig, but I see all these people talking about broken atomizers after a day, and so on.
I don't want to get something that will break, but I also want something smaller,
Like actual cig size.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Atomisers will not last forever. They are consumables at best. The difference between models are the reliability and performance. Here is what i recommend:

Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarettes | E-Cigs from Smoore -

1 x M401/2 starter kit
1 x USB Passthrough
10 x Atomisers
100ml to 260ml of E-Liquid (recommended flavor: Marlboro)
10-20 blank carts
2 -4 Manual Batts (either M401 or M402 size)

You should be ok for a while. When you are at a place with loud noises, change to your manual batts. The USB Passthrough is a great piece so don't forget this in your order no matter what. Atomisers are only $6 a piece when ordering 10pcs. The liquid amount you wish to order is your choice. 260ml is currently going for only $66 so you can decide if you wanna stock up.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm new too. 3 weeks into vaping and loving it. Haven't had an analog since Nov. 5. Haven't wanted one (and I've still got 3 cartons in the cupboard).

A friend showed me, and let me puff on, his V4L. I liked that it looked like a cigarette. I liked the portable charging case. I liked the taste and the vapor and the throat hit. And the nicotine! He said this was his third product to try, and he preferred it by far to the others.

So I came home and researched e-cigs online and especially here on ECF. Decided on the Ultimate Ultimatum kit from Vapor 4 Life. I can't say enough (though of course I'm getting interested in perhaps, maybe, someday, sometime, possibly trying some other models people here seem to really enjoy).

I also like the two-part V4L system with the cartomizer. Easy to refill. I don't know how long they last because I haven't worn one out yet, but certainly 3-5 refills sounds okay. One video demo of refilling mentions the cart's been refilled 13-14 times. So who knows?

Based on my three weeks, the overall cost per year for vaping instead of smoking (and I was a heavy smoker) is almost one-tenth! In other words, I'm saving about $1,500 a year vaping -- and enjoying it, and the flavors, FAR more than smoking.

Good luck with whatever product(s) you decide on. Vaping rules.

Alright,
I've decided what ecig I want to get. :D

But I want to get a bottle of refill ejuice for cheap, and close to CA for quick shipping.
Where might I find that? :]
Geoff at TastyVapor is in Hayward, CA
www.tastyvapor.us

You buy a high nicotine flavored e-liquid in 30.1ml size for $15 (12, 24, 36mg or 48mg), and then a bottle of " Doubler" zero nicotine liquid with matching flavor (4oz/120.4ml) for only $12 so you can mix what ever strength you'll find you need. One of the best deals out there, and really top notch flavor. Here is one (of many) of the reviews
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/electronic-cigarette-reviews/41316-tasty-vapor-review.html

Other good vendors I've used include Electronic-Ash (Teras is a terrific guy, and has good e-liquids - black friday sale going on today for 901s, pipes and other e-cigs too).
Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Use Coupon Code ECIGFORUM for 25% off (on anything that wasn't marked down for the black Frid sale). AND you can get a free 125ml bottle of Propylene Glycol deal for all purchases of 29.99 or more offer still applies even to Black Friday sale items if "PG" is entered in the comments or special instructions box on the checkout page. Ultra fast shiping. Great way to get your bottle of PG to cut liquids or do some DIY with flavoring.

And finally, http://www.mist-stix.com/category_s/64.htm $9 for 30ml is a great buy. Use code ECF at check out to get the $9 price. Check out his sale page for even better deals (code won't apply to those, but they are less than the discount code price, some only $5 for 30ml).

I have a bunch of atty's out that I mean to rotate but tend to have my favorites because each atty is it's own animal. Still, I've only had a couple die over the last 8 months.
Once you get your starter choice keep the atty's wet, don't over clean them. At night, have them pointing down so any build up of liquid can drip out.
Also, be breaking one in (atty you occasionally use) because they do have a breaking in time.

And Welcome!!!

Hi, i just don't let my atty's get too hot. I'm still using my original two after six weeks. One for the 510 and one in the passthru. I vape often and I vape deep. No atty failures yet. The only thing that I had to do is use a separate atty for mint/menthol flavors. Can't ever seem to get the taste completely out of it. No biggie though. Oh, I don't clean them or anything. Just blow them out from the battery side with my mouth every few days. Works for me.
