Hey everyone! I've been reading through posts and have found so much helpful info- thank you!
I had absolutely no intention of quitting my (way to long to put in writing) addiction to my beloved Marlboro Medium 100's- honestly, I hated being a closet smoker, I hated smelling like a dirty ashtray, my marriage was suffering because my non-smoking husband was lonely while I was outside puffing away and having my downtime. I was ashamed that the first place my children went to look for me was outside, where I would be smoking. So I wanted to try vaping as an alternative, another option... Especially in the winter
My husband bought me the IPV D3 with the TFV4 for Christmas and though apparently it was overkill, I love it.
It took some getting used to. I found myself with a cigarette in one hand and my Vape in the other A few times ha! Again- no intention of quitting.
On the TEN hour car ride home, with our bickering children and my stressed out non smoking husband, I was so thankful for this Vape I can't even tell you!
Once we arrived home, I smoked a few cigarettes but they tasted worse and worse until I just ran out and never bought another pack. I'm now a non smoker!! Woot woot! I don't smell like a dirty ashtray! No more 2000+ toxins being inhaled and I'm way more present in our home. LOVE vaping!!

But.... I do have some questions.
If anyone is still with me after this long intro
So- dry hits and bad taste.... And of course the Vape shop was closed... So I used the included coil thing (sorry I'm not schooled in the lingo yet) from the Smok box last night. I also ran out of juice!! Noooooooo
Vape shop doesn't open until 10 and I was desperate after dropping kids at school this morning, so I went to local BP where they sell Johnson Creeks Red Oak 100% PG free juice and some cheap juice called Bulldog that doesn't list the ratio and probably isn't high quality.
Enough rambling.... Can I mix a little of this menthol bulldog juice with the Red Oak Ranier and put it in my tank? Will it gunk it all up? The bulldog juice is crystal clear, which is freaking me out a little bit- can't possibly be a natural thing.
Oh!! And also- how do you prime with this set up? I just have been filling and letting it sit for a while.....

actually most juice is clear before steeping some will darken up to almost black others won't. You can mix juices Not sure what those are though. As far as priming the coil put a few drops of juice down the top along the edge of the coil not the center of the opening then there should be some holes on the side of the coil put a few drops in each hole then put it back in the tank fill your tank & let it sit for a couple minutes

So I have another question... New coil (is that even the right term?) put in last night, plenty of juice... But barely any flavor and it's really dry. What's going on with it? I already had a Coke this morning, drinking coffee now (Coke had ice in it, which I chomped on, so technically yes I have had water today ) I'm hydrated. Where's my flavor? I put the last of my juice from Christmas in last night... From vaper wizard, I think. 70/30 mix

Some juice is clear, others are darker. Depends on the flavorings in them. They can be mixed. You may or may not like what they taste like mixed, depending on the 2 juices.

All cotton coils have to be "primed" well with juice. If they are not primed well the cotton will burn. Unfortunately, once the cotton is burned the burned taste doesn't go away.

To prime the coil, drop 5-8 drops (sometimes less/more depending on the size of the coil head) of juice right inside the coil, another drop of juice in all the holes on the side of the coil. Put the coil in the base, screw the base back onto the tank and then top fill it. Once you put the tank on the battery give it several unpowered primer puffs. This will make sure the wick is fully saturated.

Turn you voltage/wattage down, take a few hits, bump it up, couple more hits. Repeat until you find your "sweet spot". If it starts to taste funny, gets too hot or tastes burnt, back it down. Different flavors will have different sweet spots so you just have to experiment.

I used the coil that came in the box...
I liked the menthol juice I tried at a local Vape store a few weeks ago mixed with my rainbow sherbert, which is weird bc I didn't smoke
Menthol but I love the cool sensation now... Also when I was at the Vape shop, I bought a new coil thing and they replaced the one I had been using since Christmas with the new one. Last night since they were closed I used the replacement it came with.
Note to self- stock up on juice and coil thingies.

so the coil you have in it has been in a full tank since last night
Priming will help with the first few Vapes
If your coil is dry it you will taste burnt cotton. If you tasted that when you replaced the coil last night you most likely won't get rid of that you may have burned up the coil

Yes- it was sitting with juice all night and it doesnt really taste bad but is dry....

I don't know how to explain it... Kind of like I have a dry throat while I'm hitting it? Just dry... Not all juicy and flavorful. Remember, I'm a total newbie still. I haven't got a clue how to word this kind of stuff I was calling it oil for the first few days until my brothers repeated and stern corrections finally sunk in.

Not telling you what to do but personally I do not buy convenience store e-liquid especially if they can't be bothered to even put the ratio on the bottle who knows what is in the juice

Hi @PiaC, Welcome to the forums and congrats on quitting those Kowboy Killers! You are getting a lot of good advice, and you already are learning the hard way to make sure you have plenty of stock in the things you need. Keep spares available of EVERYthing too, mods, batteries, tanks, coils. Sometimes things just die or stop working and we don't have the time to figure it out right away. When I travel away from home, I have SO many spares, it's ridiculous. Also, I keep one of these in the glove box of every vehicle I have. It's a cheap, simple USB passthru that doesn't need batteries, is compact, and has a 510 connector. Ya just NEVER know...

I think you're right on. I've been buying 3 or 6 mg nicotine, these are 18 mg. the bulldog (different bulldog juice- this one is mybulldogjuice.com) was super cheap and under $5- the owner stocks the other PG free brand bc it's what he uses. I was just in a bind- out of juice and needing nicotine. Bad place to be. Lesson learned though! Stocking up today on coils and juice!

Speaking of juice, I know it comes down to personal preferences as far as flavored go, but do you - any of y'all- have any brands you recommend? I don't want to buy crap- I want least harmful, most flavor. And if you could go ahead and deliver filled tanks that would be great

I only have 2 batteries but I do have a rapid charger... Learning these mods (is that the right word?) drain batteries fast- I feel like I'm sucking on my Vape all day, maybe that's why they're needing to be changed so often
