Long time reo junkie. Got me girlfriend into vaping and she and also me (I'll probably never use them except as an emergency because i use n love the rm2) are looking for a good carto to use.

She has had horrible luck with carto's. I think she has only tried the boge. She also tried an hh 357 (well thats a non carto of course). Frankly the boges where we bought were just not good anymore compared to how they use to be IMO and the hh 357 While a great atty is just not for her.

So two quick questions :

1. I am Looking at this brand called "flow" cartos (sure hope its not a renamed/branded boge) . I have only seen them being sold prepunched. With my recent novice knowledge of airflow i would venture to guess the pre punched cartos (designed for tanks) might even improve the vape.

What are your thoughts on pre punched cartos on the reo? Do they work fine? Anything to be concerned about ?

Lastly has anyone ever heard of this brand "flow" cartos ? What are some vendors or brand of cartos that are vaping well nowadays ?

Any and all comments appreciated. -

happy wife equals happy life.

Thx much !

Sorry I can't help you, but I noticed no one answered so wanted to let you know that at least I read your question. Hopefully this will get it to the top for you :)

I always used boges, but use the RM2 now. I remember maybe a year or so ago that some boges weren't performing well, but I thought they got over that problem. Maybe it was a bad batch?

I will +1 the smoke tech super shorty's. Here is why:

OK. Yup. As mentioned, they waste less juice when you throw them out. They have less filler so that makes sense. - Next reason is they have less filler. That sounds like the same reason, but not really. You can run them wetter without the filler sooner or later swelling and therefore you can get better flavor out of them than larger filler cartos. The third reason - They have less filler. It isn't as compact. The smoke tech filler is more porous than boge etc. So, you can run them wetter... Oh. Yup. That sounds like the same reason again... but not quite. The more compact filler cartos swell some when soaked (yup. I know. still sounds like the previous reason). When they swell, they compress the diaper (yeah. it's more of a diaper around the coil than a wick because it doesn't go through the coil) and push it harder on to the coil and then that diaper burns easier being pressed really tight up against the coil.

The next reason is that the material smoke tech uses for carto filler melts at a higher temperature than the filler used in boge cartos. So, while I will admit they can be burned, they are indeed harder to burn than the boge cartos.

Finally, pre punching cartos for a reo is counterproductive. You want the air flow to come from the bottom of the carto, not some random sized hole somewhere in some random place along the carto tube itself. The REO feeds from the bottom, Airflow comes from those two little bitty horizontal holes near the top of the threads. Messing with that outside a tank is counter productive and will probably change the airflow so much and maybe even introduce places to leak juice where the holes are.

Smoke Tech Super Shortys are my bet. - Barring that, post a want to buy in the classies for "Pre Boge-Gate Boge Cartos". Someone might be able to hook you up with a few hundred. I myself have a few hundred mixed ohms. I have a big handful of 1.5, a double handful of 1.8, a double handful of 2.5, another double handful of 2.8 and probably enough 3.0 and 3.2s to choke a horse.

I'm so glad I only had a passing fling with cartos- besides rebuilding/ DIY stuff, batteries and drip tips,I have exactly 4 attys and 4 devices. Lol nothing just lying around in a drawer going to waste.
In my limited experience, the super shorties are nice. I've heard good things about Vapage's silo cartomizers as well.
But really, maybe try a different atty? The hh has a pretty tight draw. Maybe try the aero, or again, vapage a slant coil. Or maybe a 306 atty would be more her speed. I think Karen still uses them on her reos

My wife and I used Boge SR XL punched cartos exclusively in tanks for over 1 year without ever having even 1 bad carto. The trick is getting them primed properly the first time. I used a 20 guage sharp tipped needle and injected 1 1/2 ml of juice into the carto from the bottom up. Blew out any excess, inserted them in the carto tank, fill and they were good to go.

I've only had my Reo for a couple weeks. I use to use boges and hated the hell out of them. Now everytime I see a carto I'm like;

I mostly used Boge 2.0 for nearly 3 years and switched to an RM2. Sorry to bring bad news, but even the Shortys were getting bad. I don't know what they've done to cartos recently, but they are all but worthless now.

Does she have a reason for not wanting to go to an RM2? If I could switch, anyone could.

I keep my coils between 1.8 and 2.0 and use bamboo crochet thread for a wick. Every single vape is the same as hitting that magic point on a carto, which took time to build up to, and didn't last very long.

Another suggestion is to file the firing pin - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYV702D0mSk and reapply noalox fairly often. That will give the worthless cartos a little boost.

The 1.7 ohm shorty's do work well with the REO. I used carto tanks exclusively before I got my REO. When I needed punched, Boges were alway convenient to get my hands on. BUT, some of the best cartos I ever used were from Johnson Creek. They are designed to be used with the Vea, but man did they kick. They just had a little something extra I didn't get from other cartos. Ikenvapes were a very close 2nd.

If your looking for up to date information on cartos, I would PM user Baditude. He's the carto king IMO.
