I agree, the Evic is for those that like bells and whistles that aren't hard on things. But I've also seen some problems with them. Locking up, one with a burnt screen, a couple have locked up computers with the software and I've heard of a couple with the tops coming off after a drop.
The Provari isn't as fancy or pretty, it isn't meant to be. It's durable and does what it's meant to do and nothing more, but it does it and keeps doing it.

Agree with the last 2 answers. The eVic gets the job done, and its display and electronics are kind of novel. However, it is rather fragile and some (like me) have experienced problems with the top of the head unit coming off exposing wires that are then sometimes broken from their soldered connections. I sold my eVic after the vendor gave me a new head unit, and now have a ProVari. While the ProVari is expensive, this is definitely a case of getting what you pay for.
