First off, I would like to thank everyone for the very well thought out and
informative posts around this site.
By lurking for several days, I have avoided falling for the rather clever advertising ploy that is blu (atomizers that burn out quickly, terrible shipping, customer service pains, etc.) And found something that was not only highly rated on this forum to try, but also had the same look I wanted (the black body and blue led just looked fricken awesome to me, don't know why.) Anyway, I've pretty much settled on the 510 titan from the folks over at TW.
I used to smoke analogs, mostly for stress relief, but had to give them up as my girlfriend at the time refused to even kiss me if I smelled like smoke, even if I used up an entire bottle of cologne and ate half a dozen altoids. I still get the craving often though, and she's been looking for something to take the edge off but neither of us don't want to do recreational drugs (random drug tests at work FTW.) And this seems to be a happy medium for the both of us. Kind of excited. Anyway, I really appreciate all the great posts that are totally patient with noobies. I'm gonna pitch the idea to her tonight and hopefully order the titan tomorrow when I get my paycheck. I'm prolly gonna be a frequent poster here, as this seems to be a great forum environment, so thanks so much for the help (that I didn't even have to ask for) :)
PS. Sorry about the block of text. I can't figure out how to indent properly.

It sounds like you really did your research and made a good choice. Totally Wicked is a good place to order from with an outstanding reputation for great customer service and that reputation is no accident.

Their prices might be a few dollars higher than others but they also offer something unique that I am not aware of anybody else offering. The 510 starter kit that TW sells comes with one automatic battery and one manual battery. This means one battery will just work by sucking through the e-cig and the other battery works on a little push button that activates it.

Having both kinds of battery will help you decide what is right for you. Some people prefer the hands free operation of an automatic batter but many others prefer the precise control a manual battery affords. You will be able to make your own determination instead of having to figure it out from the opinions of others.

Just so you know, the battery life on the 510 is not the best. It would be a good idea to compliment your purchase with a PCC (pocket charging case) to go along with your 510. The PCC sold by TW includes a full extra e-cigarette but it is still so far on the expensive side that you might want to consider purchasing that from elsewhere.

We have a forum here devoted to just that model e-cig. You might want to check there to find a good place to buy a PCC. the forum is at...
Joye 510 - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

Best of hope to you and I hope you find satisfaction. The 510 really is an outstanding device.

Hi,

I'm 41 this month and have been smoking since I was 17. I want to quit, I quit once for 2 1/2 years then started again just like that. My breathing is affected and I need to stop.
I'm in San Diego and I was wondering if you know any place here in town I can get a Joye 510 starter kit? (I want the black w/ blue led)
This is the best price I found Matte black Joye510 kit 38$ at Heaven Gifts
Do you know of a 510 cheaper?
Also, have you quit smoking analog cigerettes?
How hard was it not to light up?
Do you think you will quit using nicotin all together?
Have you started using less nicotin than you did when you started using e cigs?
Are you more addicted to nicotine now (after starting e cigs) ?
Do you use more or less nicotine?
I heard all this stuff is made in China and no one knows what exactly is in the juice. I've heard some type of hand sanatizer is in them? Does any of this worry you?

Thanks Robert

Hey Robert,
I can't really speak for the joy 510 starter kit, but I know that the Titan at Totally Wicked E-liquid (online) comes with several different level of nicotine juices, tobacco flavored, for around $70. It's a bit hard to find E-Cigs in stores at the moment because of both the new legislature condemning cigs and a recent FDA scare that E-Cigs might be regulated. At the moment though, there is no such ban, retailers are just hesitant to carry them. I believe that the majority of the ingredients (chemicals, whatever) are all FDA approved, with the main negative being Nicotine, and the main positive being that there is practically no tobacco in E-Liquid (For the most part I believe, like I said, I'm new.)
As for quitting, I was a somewhat heavy smoker, started at fifteen strong about two years, and wound up smoking about a pack a day. What it really came down to with my gf was basically "Cigarettes or Nookie" because she couldn't stand the smell. I, being the typical male, opted for the latter. I just kinda stopped cold turkey, which sucked beyond all reason, but I'd much rather have the alternative.. But I still faintly crave it, even today. I probably won't stop using nicotine completely with e-cigs. Btw, most of your questions can be answered in the abundance of stickies at the top of the forum page. May want to check there.
