Hi there! Well- I thought I might as well do an introduction myself since so many others have also. I am a brandy dandy new vaper (or I like to call it vaperizer- yes its a pun, but I think it is funny XD). Anyways, I just got my 510 kit this afternoon. I am so excited about trying this out. I have been smoking analogs for 19yrs now at about 1 pack/day. I have had my arguments with myself over quitting smoking for a couple years now and I know with this I am not quitting, but hey its a start! I have 2 kids and felt it was time to listen to my own preaching and give something else a try! It always brakes my heart to hear my kids complaining about the smoke. I am sure we all know those complaints very well! Anyways- I will be surfing this forum quite often looking for answers or ways to take care of my new products. Right now the biggest thing I am having a problem with is there doesn't seem to be much "flavor" in the liquids I chose today. I will keep puffing and see if I notice a change later once everything is broke in. I chose a Marlboro Red flavor and a Cloves flavor. I will try them both out over the next week or so. Even though I can't really taste the cloves flavor a lot- my hubby said he could. He isn't a vaperizer as of yet since we couldn't afford 2 kits at this time. I am hoping I will win him over with my kit eventually. One other thing I am struggling with right now is when I smoked an analog- there was a time limit... you know till it burned out- well I find my self not yet satisfied so I am puffing more than I would with an analog. Do other newbies find this a struggle also? Anyways- I know it will take time to get used too and maybe I just need to get a timer set for when I am wanting to vape! LOL OK- I'm done rambling now- I look forward to reading the forums and hearing from fellow newbies and time tested vets! Take Care and I will be seeing ya!

Thanks all- Demoness

Welcome and don't worry too much about how much you vape in the beginning. If it keeps you off the analogs, it's all good.

I know that for some people it takes time for one's taste buds to recover from years of smoking. It may also be that you'd benefit from a warmer vape than you can get from the 510. I use the KR808D-1 from Vapor4Life but I think the Ego/Riva models accomplish the same thing because they have really good battery power.

I love strong flavors, so when I order from a vendor I always choose the "extra flavor" option if it's available. Alternately, you can find some flavors that are naturally strong, like a good coffee, black licorice, cinnamon, or something along those lines.

Welcome to the ECF community. One of the most difficult problem most of us face is finding the juices that we like, and will keep us off analogs. The best way to do it is visit some of the juice suppliers here on ECF and order 5, 10, or even 15 different flavors that appeal to you in sample size bottles - 3ml to 5ml, and start trying them out. You might want to try the following suppliers:

Gourmet Vapor
Vaperite
FreedomSmokeUSA

Good Luck to you.

I still go through periods where my PV is my pacifier. It's almost always in my hands being used. It's not a big deal because when things settle down, I'm able to put it down for longer periods. Your body will let you know when you've overdone it, so just pay attention to what it's telling you. If in doubt, you can always ask here because chances are good that quite a few of us have been through it.

Your sense of taste and smell will return in time, so don't worry about that. If you're still smoking analogs once in a while that will interfere with those senses until after you quit analogs completely. Once those senses do return, watch out because you will be amazed!

Make sure that you keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Vaping is dehydrating and if you're vaping a lot it can hit you pretty quick. If the thought of plain water isn't up your alley, drink KoolAid! It works for me!

I just received a 22 flavor sampler from PureSmoker. 22 6ml bottles for I think it was 56.00 or so; reasonable cost. Have only tried maybe 6 so far (ran across fire&ice and virginia silver menthol so have been distracted from trying others).

I also started with the 510 then moved to the ego for battery life (but can still use all the 510 stuff I originally bought). Just got my first lr cartomizers and for warmth of vapor they make a big difference.

welcome and good luck.

I started researching PVs a month before I bought one and while preparing for the change, I started counting how many hits I took of a real cig... the average was 12. When I started vaping, I used it like a cig and took 12 hits and thought I had to quit using it for an hour of so even though I wasn't completely satisified. I would sit there and watch the clock thinking I had to wait... if this was a replacement for me, then it had to be used the same... or so I thought.

almost 2 months in and I don't use it the same as I did analogs. I will sit and vape for almost an hour sitting at my computer and on the same day, not touch it for hours... it all depends on what I am doing and how I'm feeling. With an analog, it was almost like clockwork. Now I feel more free, I'm actually vaping less than I smoked and it's no longer a habit, just feeding my nicotine addiction.
