I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hi! I tried quitting real ciggies almost 2 years ago and used an e-cig but failed for a number of reasons. This time it's going much better and I haven't had a real cig in almost 2 weeks. But I could use some advice on equipment!

I bought my original kit from Liberty E-cigs 2 years ago but I can't find them online anymore. Is anyone familiar with them? They had great, affordable kits and good service. In fact, I charged up my old batts and discovered this evening that they still work!

I ordered a kit from Nu-Cig but it seems as though the battery isn't working right already, after just 2 weeks of use, grrrr. This is the first time I've tried cartomizers and I don't like them, either. Seems to me that the separate atomizers and refillable cartridges work better and last longer. Any advice on that?

I wasn't a heavy smoker and am just as addicted to the habit/ritual as the nicotine. I need an e-cig that looks and feels as close to a real cig as possible. That was the reason I liked the Nu-Cig kit -- the e-cig wasn't as heavy and everything fit into a case that looks exactly like a cigarette pack. And I think that's why I'm having a lot more success keeping off real cigs this time.

But I need a better quality kit. Suggestions? Thanks for your help and I look forward to meeting y'all!

Julia

Thanks for the welcomes and great info, everyone! Looks like I've got some reading and homework to do before I order! ;) There are pluses and minuses with just about every kit so I've got to prioritize!

But I'm pretty psyched that I've gone this long without a ciggy and no really horrible effects. SO worth the effort! And meeting y'all is an added bonus! :)

The e-cig that helped me quit smoking was the Roughstack v2 (mini -- not the maxi). It doesn't "look" like a cigarette, but you can hold it like one. Also, battery lasts all day (no need for PCC, etc.).

Good luck! Also, some words of encouragement: once you've committed to the e-cig for 4-7 days, your taste buds will come back, and cigarettes will taste awful. I tried to smoke one after 7 days w/ the Roughstack and couldn't even get through half of it.

Yeah, it probably sounds weird to need the really close to smoking experience but it's proving super-successful for me this time. I need to have a cig in my hand when I'm talking on the phone, driving, and at other times during the day. It's almost like a security blanket, lol. Being able to take it out of a real-looking cig pack is helping, too. It's a crutch I need, I guess.

Battery life has been OK. I take the e-cig apart and keep it in the pack when I'm not puffing on it and I think that helps save the battery. It also helps simulate a smoking ritual for me. I wasn't a heavy smoker but I have been so used to having my cigs and rituals for over 20 years that they're hard to do without. I've gotta keep it as real as possible and so far, so good!

I saw the Ego is highly recommended but I think it would feel awkward in my hand and not be a close enough cig replacement to handle that ritual aspect.

Hi TX, glad to hear that your giving it another go. You wont regret it! When I first started vaping it was a little discouraging, mainly due to dealing with if I had enough battery and juice to last me the day. I would buy packs of cigarettes strictly out of convenience. But now I'm use to the routine and have no cravings for cigarettes. Wish you the best of luck.

Just moved to Fort Hood, TX
Go for the volt then... you can get it with a charging case at Smokeless Image
And here is how to fill a cartomizer. They are way better tan atomizer/cartridge combo and you can boil them to clean them
Also check out e juice from Blue Mist Vaping. Its only about 30 bucks for a 180ml bottle of juice! thats 5 bucks per 30ml! lol I just found them and most of their juice is fantastic.
