I'm new to the forum but after all the media over all the vaping sickness going on, I thought I'd get some input about here I've been vaping off & on for 5 yrs, the last 3 being straight without any cigs. I love my vape, I'm down to 1.5-3mg nic. I'm just concerned over all this craziness over vaping going on. Anybody have any real information besides quit vaping?

The current scare is about vaping black market adulterated THC (cannabis) cartridges only. The media won't straight up say that because most of their revenue is derived from Big Pharma and other interests trying to eliminate tobacco competition. As well, states can continue getting big checks from the tobacco settlements.

Thanks for the replies, no I don't smoke THC, I have a feeling they've got it all twisted up and just trying to scare people and it seems it's mostly in young people too getting sick

THC is no more the culprit than vaping is. It is what was added to the THC. Please everyone be careful with how you word your comments, new or uneducated users are easily confused if you aren't clear.

Yes, the vaping "illness" was caused by black market pods that were laced with things not designed to be inhaled.

Please stop worrying about THAT. If vaping is working for you, you need to start worrying about how to make your own eliqud and coils and that information can be found in various subforums, such as the DIY eliquid forum and the coil building forum. You can take it slow at first but it may be prudent to decide if you are going to stock up for self sufficiency or just bow down to whatever happens which may not be pretty.

    Good luck,

    Anna

Listen, what you are hearing in the media is uninformed, irresponsible nonsense. Yes, some people are getting sick, all of a sudden, from vaping thc from cartridges bought on the black market. I would beware of any Juul cartridges purchased anywhere other than the Juul website.

If you purchase whatever it is you are vaping from a reputable vendor, then there is no reason to worry.

I friend told me that from denver she smokes THC. And says they put vitamin E oil in a batch of the cartridges and kids got sick u cant put that in the lungs

Exactly, the "oil" is the "bad for inhaling" culprit, not the pod or THC.

I don't have it on hand but the CDC warned against atomizing black market products as that is the culprit so nicotine purchased from a legitimate retail establishment or online provider is going to be fine conversely THC purchased from a authorized legal dealer or website (if that's a thing) is also likely to be fine it's when people are purchasing things off the black market that you're going to run into trouble because there's absolutely no regulation whatsoever and the Neo drug dealer doesn't really particularly care as long as they get the sale. As long as you're purchasing whatever products you use from a legitimate retail or online provider you don't need to be overly concerned any more so than you would be with any nicotine product :) I hope that helps

    Here's a good example...
Wisconsin brothers charged with running massive drug operation that made THC vaping cartridges

CDC is and has long been in bed with the tobacco industry.
An old tax debt/contract has come due with .gov and sales are way down.
Huge amounts of state tax revenue is being lost to vaping. Oh, and it's ineffective to killing the herd and negatively impacts the _cancer business_.

    Welcome to the matrix.

Vaping is beginning to hurt tobacco tax revenues and it will only get worse unless something is done I believe the motive for the flavor bans is to wreck the vape business to pave the way for IQOS heat-not-burn product which will probably be subject to MSA payments. It is already FDA approved, ready for sale any time in a C Store near you.
