Your choices seem a little too advanced for a beginner vaper. Might like to visit a local B&M Vape shop and discuss the pros and cons of sub ohm'g (among other choices) before you start vaping.

Welcome aboard the Vape train. I agree with @BrotherBob re: the comments about new users starting off with sub-ohming. I started 3 years ago using e-cigs with around 1.7 ohm resistance. After nearly 2 years I ventured into sub-ohm land and for me it is a place I don't plan to visit again. The coils I build and the coil heads I use are around 2 ohms. Whether to go above or below is most definitely a personal choice though. So do research, listen to other opinions on pros and cons of both, and try yourself. I would suggest doing the researching, listening and then trying, in that order though..

You might wanna check these forums for folks' experiences with the GX 350. It seems to have some electronics QC issues.

Visiting a local shop is a good idea. Try as much as they'll let you, and settle on what works for you.

Hi and welcome, I own a GX350. Its quite the performer but if you are new I wouldnt jump straight to it. Its one of the most powerful regulated mods around.

But if you are set on a GX it is none of my business truly. I have had it for almost two weeks and this is my experience.

I have not experienced the issues some people have with the electronics just taking a general crap. My store even went so far as to tell me that they are truly a good/bad egg type of mod.

I use it generally at 130 watts and I get about 4-5 days on a charge with relatively consistent use.

The batteries are a pain to get in/out because they have sleeves inside the compartment that are very tight. I have to shake the mod with the door open to get them out. On that subject the battery door only stays tightly closed when the batteries are in. And when they are all in the door almost has this middle bulge that doesnt let it sit perfectly flush.

This is not to mention 4 batteries will run you 40 dollars, and from what the internet says you cannot charge through the USB port, it is only for updates. You need a 4 port external charger. I have not attempted to charge through the mod so I cant confirm and my batteries are full so I cannot confirm that sorry.

Dont get me wrong, I like the mod. I use it daily. I am just giving you a full honest slate of what it is. As for buying it off a site I would advise not to cause if you get a bad egg its going to be an issue.

But I have one that works, and it works great. The TFV8 the kit comes with is Fantastic in all regards. I love it.

I hope this helps you make a decision.

FINAL DECREE: This is not a good starter mod at all. It can be dangerous due to the power.

Welcome to the forum. Have you pulled the trigger yet? Stick V8 is a solid fixed wattage sub-ohm kit and Big Baby Beast tank that comes with it very good. I still have one of two V8s I started with 4 weeks ago but upgraded to the Smok GX2/4 a week after quitting smoking starting vaping. I opted for it since in 2 battery mode it's the smallest duel 18650 out there right now AND can also use it in 4 battery mode making it like the GX350. Way happy with it.

Well, it depends on what you are looking for out of vaping. Some people really want a powerful device and a lot of juice flowing through their system by DL. If you do go that route, I'd start out low with the nicotine, and watch out for signs of nic overdose versus cigarette quitting. I was gifted a sub-ohm and figured 12 mg was a reasonable start given how much I smoke(d). It wasn't. I can only subohm 6 m.g nicotine without coughing my branis out. I ended up switching to a 1.8 coil and did much better (Nautilus 2) though I like the 0.7 coils as well. I vape around 20 mg nic on that and even when chain vaping to start (I think many of us do that in the beginning, to deal with detoxing off tobacco), I was fine. So, be aware of that variable.

I'd definitely (if you can) get to a brick and mortar store to at least look at various demos, hold them, see them demonstrated, some places will even let you vape on them if it's possible to attach a disposable drip tip. If you can't, I might recommend getting your kit that you desire, but possibly also a smaller MTL backup/tryout tank, that is pretty inexpensive, like the Nautilus mini or another mini tank, it should still work on your crazy battery power provided you reduce the wattage a GREAT deal. Then you can try out different options without too much risk, though I'm not sure I *personally* would pull the trigger on that setup if you can only buy it from an overseas vendor. If you get one of the ones that the quality control guy was sleeping during assessment, it may be harder to get it replaced/warrantied and take a lot more time. I might start with something less powerful to start, even if it IS still capable of sub-ohming and you can still buy a secondary tank. There are lots of good options out there, and if you decide mega sub-ohming is for you, the Smokg will be around and only get cheaper...
