I decided to sign up so I could ask.

I have the Aspire Nautilus, and while it is a nice tank, I cant get the top part disconnected - it's like it is fused to the top, so I can't fill it.

I've tried using pliers, and while it came with a replacement tank body, I'd really rather not break it just because I can't get it to come off.

Any suggestions? It's a nice tank, and I even picked up replacement coils to go with it, but I'm at my wits end trying to get it taken apart so I can refill.

The Nautilus/Nautilus Mini is a bottom fill tank so the top part technically never has to come off although I take it off when I do the occasional full cleaning of my tanks.

When I say bottom fill, I mean that the piece with the air holes and coil gets removed and you fill the tank that way taking care to not get any juice in the chimney so don't overfill.

To refil just unscrew the bottom and fill it.

The top should come unscrewed though but as it's metal threading onto glass it's going to be tricky to get it off without breaking it. Maybe place it in the freezer for 15-20 mins or the opposite - try running it under some hot water for a bit to make the metal expand enough to get it off.

Well now I feel like an idiot. Do you know how many different things I've tried to get the top off, only to discover that once I take the stupid bottom off, you can remove the top, too (not that I wanted to, I just wanted to fill it).
