I am happy I found this forum. It has been very helpful in my rearching of what mod to buy. I decided on the Omega from Alt-smoker. The Omega has a 510 fitting and I am going to start with cartos I ordered from liquid express along with their Honey Flue Cured Tobacco e-liquid. I bought batteries to operate at 6V.

Anyways I did something similiar to vaping when I was stationed in Iraq as a contractor. I smoked from those old fashion large middleast water pipes but on second thought I guess it was not vaping because there was a real fire burning some kind of incense.

I have all my equipment ordered and I am excited about it arriving. I been smoking analogs for 36 years and I hope to quit them.

Hello to everyone and please wish me luck.:)

Hi Randy - good luck!!!!!!! This is my 3rd day vaping. I've only smoked 6 analog cigarettes since I started (would have had at least a pack by now with no vaping) and I can already tell it's going to be easy to give them up. Like you, I'm a long time smoker. I don't just like smoking - I love it. But I can already tell, vaping will be so much better!!!!! Post an update on your progress :)

Welcome to ECF and congrats on your decesion to quit, vaping will help.

A word of caution, regarding your cartos, I looked at the website and there was no information
as to the resistance of them. Vaping a 6v you would want a higher resistance carto or atty,
otherwise you will likely have a problem of burning the juice and carto, with a burnt taste.
In general a standard carto may be too low, V4L coolcarts are reported to be about 3 ohms
and are more suited for higher voltages.

Personally I perfer a 3.5 - 3.7 ohm atty at 5v but I like a cooler vape than some, sometimes
comes to personal preference. Just don't want yo see you give up on vaping if your cartos
all taste burnt.

If you have questions post 'em up, lots of good people and good advice to be had here.

Hi and welcome to ECF. I was down at the Altsmoke store a while back to buy a mod. I checked out the Omega and it's a solid unit. It's all mechanical and user serviceable too. I went with the Silver Bullet though. To activate the Omega you push the whole top down. I carry my stuff in my pocket and was concerned that it would activate accidentally. Other than that it would have been my first choice. It's a good unit and you'll get many years of service out of it.

You might want to consider getting the 18650 batt's too so you can run it at 3.7v. With a 1.7 ohm or 2.0 ohm LR atty that thing will put out more vapor than you think. At 6v you'll likely have problems with standard carto's getting too hot. At 6v I use 3.5 ohm atty's and it still only takes about a 2 second hit. Anyway it's something to think about.
