So here's where I'm at...I've been vapin for bout a month on my first e cig the Riva eGo. I really love it with the low res attys, long battery life and haven't smoked maybe 5 analogs (I was a pack a day smoker of Salem Full Flavors for 6 years) since I got it. But...I've been really lusting over the Silver Vein Omega, and the Silver Bullet. I really want to try 6v, and also 5v. First of all what is a good mod for 5v vaping? Am I somewhat close to that using my low res attys? And last but not least, should I wait a while till I drop $140 on an Omega (it's like $29 for the 6v batts)...or should I go ahead and take the plunge? What's so much better about 5v/6v? I don't want to spend all that money and say "Eh it's a little different from my eGo, but not $140 worth." Help!!! Then again it just looks so damn cool in silver vein...

Hi There!

I can't tell you much about the Omega but I tried a Silver Bullet for a while. The good thing about the Bullet is you can vape at 3.7 or 6 volts depending on the batteries you choose.

If you want to try 5 volt vaping, just get any USB passthru. They all produce 5 volts.

At higher voltage you get better vapor production and stronger flavor (they're hotter).

Hope this helps!

If you want 5 volts don't get a passthru with an inline battery. They only give you 3.7 volts. You may not get a full 5 volts with a passthru depending on your power source, but a good power source should get you pretty close.

I'm a big fan of variable voltage. You can just set it where you like it best. But if you've been smitten by the SB/Omega they may be the only mods that will make you happy. Check out deal extreme for batteries. You can probably save some money, just be prepared to wait a little longer.

That's my next step. It's a cheaper way to experience the higher voltage. Who knows, maybe I only like my 3.2 eGo. If I spend around $20 to sample 5v, then I'll know. Maybe I will want to use both and will need to get something that will give me a variable option. I'll spend $20 to find out what I want before making a more expensive mistake.

Thanks for the info! I have 2 passthru's - one with a battery and one without. Now I know why I like the one without so much better.

Which would be the best AV device to get? I was looking at the Joker AV until I read the reviews...nuff said.

I have a Buzz and like it a lot. It may not win any beauty contests but as far as performance, reliability and customer support, it's met all my expectations.

There are others on or comming on the market that you may want to check out as well. I don't know if there is a "best" of any tpe of mod. It depends so much on what's important to you.
