Just wanted to say hi, and thank ECF for the abundance of information you have for us newbies, it's awesome!

I've been a smoker for almost 20 years, tried many times to quit with nicotine patches, Champix, and even cold turkey. I couldn't do it!

I started vaping nearly a month ago. My first PV was the Elusion Electronic Cigarette, it looked just like a real one, and claimed that the carts were eual to a pack of 20 cigarettes. I quickly found out how inaccurate that statement was. They didn't really satisfy me as far as the throat hit or nicotine level (11mg, I was used to 8 mg cigarettes) or vapor volume. So after a few days I stopped using it, and went back to analogs.

I've been using a 510 mega for 2 weeks now and really like it, I use 11mg juice and it is holding me so far. I've been chopping and changing from dripping to carts and like them both for their own reasons. I do notice that the batteries when fully charged make the atomizer put out good vapor and throat hit for about thirty minutes, then it drops off a bit and the batteries then last for another hour or so. So that is a bit of a pain but I'm getting by with 2 chargers and 2 batteries.

I've been looking at some battery mod tutorials that Im going to try for my 510 to keep the nice hit and vapour coming longer. I've also ordered a 6v kit I'm keen on trying.

Anyway I look forward to reading more here at ECF and sharing my experiences with other vapers.

Thanks ECF!!

:)

between here and there
welcome.......I must say the 6v is gonna rock your world.......you just went clear to the attic.......
It is generally excepted that we only get from 10-40 pct of the nic from ecigs that we did from analogs. This is because the nic is in the ejuice.....There are a couple of ways to handle it. if you are constantly vaping, then up your nic to help satisify the cravings and get a more powerful battery. Or constantly vape with a lower nic content....either way as long as they keep you off the analogs, the is the main thing.

Keep us informed....
:)

Yeah that's why i'm gonna try making one of those 18650_3.7v_2400 mAh battery / flashlight mods for my 510 coz I do like to vape frequently, even though I don't seem to get cravings if I don't.

So I think the nic content is fine, it's more of a flavor/ throat hit satisfaction thing, that I notice seems to drop a bit after 5-10 good draws on a freshly charged 510 mega battery.

Will definately let you know how the 6v is, which should be at my front door any day now!!!

I just started recently too =) i think they are not honest on most sites when they say 1 carto/cart = 1 pack, but i think the reality is 1 carto is equal in nicotine to 1 pack of analogs but not sure =/ let us know how u like the battery mods, i want to try some too
I believe that these claims are not really lying or exaggerating so much as purposely misleading...

I think what they might be doing is saying that a cartridge has as many milligrams (mg) of nicotine as a pack of cigarettes.

So therefore if you ignore the possible fact that we absorb far less nicotine from using electronic cigarettes as compared to cigarettes, you can potentially say that a cartridge could equal a pack of cigarettes. Of course, that is only if you consider that you would have to be taking only like two drags off your electronic cigarette and pretending that you have just smoked a cigarette.

So yeah, if you only take around two drags every time you would normally have a cigarette, it may last as long as a pack.
And if you absorbed the same amount of nicotine from an electronic cigarette as you do from a real cigarette... there's your one pack.

Notice they never actually say it will "last as long" as a pack of cigarettes, though.
They always say it is "equivalent" to a pack of cigarettes.

And that's probably true, as long as you conveniently ignore absorption rates.

Hehe true. I seem to be taking alot more than two drags, every time I would normally have a cigarette! So no wonder a cart isn't lasting me as long as the advertisments imply that they should!

Anyway I got my 6v kit and definately am noticing a much better throat hit, strangely though the vapour production is not much different than my 510, it just seems "hotter."

Anyway thanks for all the welcomes and I'll look forward to talking to you all again on the ECF forum.

I've just joined today . Thank god Ive found this site. After smoking for well over 30 years its been now 10 weeks without even scabbing a drag. Champix and Ecigs are my present best friends . Although the reliability factor of my e cig is giving me some angst. Hoping to meet some great friends ( especially some OZ ones) here as I continue my journey
