Definitely seems like rebuilding would be the way to go if you're in SG, probably much easier to get some cotton and wire than buying new coils all the time. YouTube is an excellent resource as well if you can view U.S. videos from there or possibly even local videos or a similar local service to YouTube. Lots of people post tutorials on building coils and wicking for almost every device that's out there.

We're about to suffer a similar fate in the US. I build my coils for that reason.
