Hi Everybody, I am new to the forum but have been vaping since December 2009. I was a pack and a half smoker for 29 years. I started when it was 15 thinking it was pretty cool. Toward the end it was not cool at all. I felt like crap, just about coughed up a lung every morning when I woke and was pretty much the scourge of the family being I was the only smoker. My house, car and clothing stunk not to mention all the money that literally went up in smoke. I was surfing the internet one day and stumbled on the electronic cigarette. A WHAT??!! You've got to be kidding me! Of course couriosity got the best of me so I started researching and thought that this could really be a way to get off the cancer stix. I bought a KR808D-1 starter kit for myself for my Birthday in December. I started using it as soon as the batteries were charged. In the first week I went from a pack and a half a day to 3 packs a week. In March of 2010 my workplace announced they were going smoke free (talk about pandemonium!) and were offering a smoking cessation clinic and would reimburse employees up to 200 dollars for cessation products. I went on Chantix for one month backed by my ecig and got off analogs completely. I have been analog free since April 24, 2010. I have no intention of going back. I enjoy vaping much better I have even been through some very stressful events recently and the thought of smoking an analog never crossed my mind. I know for a fact that without my e cig I would be puffing away on regular cigs right now. Ecigs have changed MY life for the better and I endorse them to my friends and co workers every chance I get and I will go to the boxing ring if someone tries to take them away! I truly believe ecigs have saved my life. I knew I was killing myself with every puff but I couldn't stop and I tried. Every year for the Great American Smokeout! I guess the 29th time was the charm!:vapor:

Welcome to ECF I was like you started at 13 because my friends said it was cool and even though my mother found out she gave me her blessing because she knew I would do it any how and didn't want her house burning down so she said better in front of me then behind her back so I smoked 1 1/2 packs for 32 years just picked up on ecigs about 40 days ago and its been great.

Consider me your recycling center for Njoy Pro, Smoking Everywhere Gold, Cloud 9, Smoke 51 Trio, and DSE103 useless batteries.
Other hardware if it’s still usable.
Those I loan out to/give to thank you.

Background out of the way first: I first heard about e cigarettes about a month ago. I have been smoking for 18 years and I had quit cold turkey once five years ago (aside from having managed to quit when I found out I was pregnant). I managed to not smoke for a year but truthfully, did it more for my daughter and husband. Quitting cold turkey was the worst feeling and I'm surprised my husband and I stayed together! Let's just say that he saw me as ....

Over the past year, I had been considering quitting for all the same reasons that others do: cost, health, smell, etc. but just really was going to miss the feel of smoking. But one day at work, a co-worker showed me an e-cig she bought at 7-11 and the idea totally intrigued me. I did a lot of research, found a lot of sources online that I never even knew existed and took the plunge. I started out with Green Smoke but have tried the Vapor4Life and LOVE that one. Three weeks later, I have gone from just about a pack a day to four analogs a day and vaping the rest of the time. I have two analogs left in my pack and once they are gone, I won't be buying more - probably the first time I ever wished that I ran out of smokes sooner. Even my husband, who doesn't smoke, has tried the e-cig out of curiosity and likes it. He is proud that I'm taking the step but also kind of having fun trying out the flavors himself with me.

I have learned so much from reading this forum and I am so excited to be "enjoying" working on a major health concern. I admire everyone that has gone through the switch and congratulate their successes! I hope that I will someday be counted as one of them and will have things I that I can pass along on as well! Meantime, I'll just keep reading.
