Today is Day 12 - Cold Turkey! I am completely obsessed with everything vaping!

I have been lurking here for about 3 or 4 weeks reading as much as I possibly could. Really funny - what started out as a tool to quit smoking cigs has quickly turned into my new hobby!

I will be forever grateful for ECigs - and they have given me life back in more ways than I thought possible - even in 12 short days. The most noticeable - my confidence and the feeling that if I can do this after smoking for 30 years 1-1.5/ppd, I can do anything.

Rather than focus on the technical details of my experience - of which there is soooo much information available here - I'd rather focus on the some of the good and funny stuff!

On Day 3 - my sense of smell and taste was really whacked out. You know how sometimes stores have treats set out for their customers - I was in this greenhouse and they had cold lemon water. My friend and I got a glass and all I could taste was green peppers..lol. I had my car detailed and the guy did a fabulous job on it - stuck these scent pak things under the seat with my favorite scent - and I got in my car and all I could smell was this yucky smell. My friend told me I was out of my mind - my car smelled fabulous and she's a non smoker! **Tip** my car had an "in cabin" air filter - which I had changed out - made all the difference in the world - now have clean air blowing in - cost me $20!!

Water - always sucked at drinking water. While reading and waiting for my kit to arrived - I immediately knew I had to be dehydrated and understood how important the water would become so 48 hours before my first vape I started in with the water - and have had around 70oz per day without fail - and this has been so beneificial for me it's crazy!

Wondering when my taste buds were going to change. Went to the grocery store after traveling for 5 days - and when I got to the checkout - thought I had the wrong cart. It was filled with fruit! No sodas - no sweets - nothing salty!! I was thinking who is this person! I have been a raging popaholic forever - not that I'm trying to give up anything but cigs at the moment..but all of these other bad habits are falling by the wayside. Have had 2 sodas in 12 days - just don't want one for some reason!

I have no desire for anything remotely close to a tobacco flavor so I'm happily vaping mint and peppermint and anxiously awaiting my Vermillion River Hot Cinnamon - stalking the mailman!

Hilarious - I really like spicy food. One of my fav things are Beef Hot Links brats. Threw a hot dog together for lunch the other day and by the 3rd bite - I have tears rolling down my face - my nose is running and my mouth was on FIRE!! I couldnt even finish the dang thing!!

So far the change in my breathing is completely awesome! No more hacking cough in the morning. So far, I havent hit the hacking that comes when you quit analogs and wondering about that...

Also figured out that I owe my friends and family who are non-smokers a debt of gratitude. After being with ppl who were smoking analogs - I realized that perfume did NOT cover the smell of smoke - you just smell like perfume AND smoke.

I did go into this in a "go big or go home" fashion. From what I read, being prepared is half the battle, so I did invest up front and I have 5 batts - and from fear of running out of cartos...well let's just say - I have plenty and leave it at that!! Now I want to fill my own too and thanks to all of the wonderful, informative members here and on another forum - I'm ready for that!

Had 1 morning where I over vaped  so now I know what that's like..lol.

The only downside is...when I am not vaping, I am reading about vaping, or talking about vaping, or putting vaping wish lists together and luckily all of this I can do and VAPE at the same time!!

I'm just so happy to be joining the wonderful world of ECigs and looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

VAPE ON!! :vapor:

HaHaHaHa!!!

Listen..a girl has to accessorize! So now I freakin want diff colored batts and coordinating cartos!! I'm bummed all I got was white - live and learn!!

My SISTER (who by the way cried when I told her I quit smoking) bought me this sticky sequins thingies and I promptly stuck them on one of my batts! Girls Night Out.

Didn't make it home for Father's Day - and my Mom's BD is 06/21 and I'm going home next weekend. I have a box wrapped that I'm giving both of them and all it has inside is a card that says...I QUIT SMOKING - TODAY is DAY 18. I hope my Dad doesn't have a heart attack....he asks me every time he sees me..and well...I'm 48!

Nice to meet both of you!!!

What a great story.
As for spending time reading about vaping and talking about vaping... that is part of the method of keeping off cigarettes. The more time we spend with vaping on our mind, the less time we have to worry about not smoking, so this forum is part of the treatment. Come to this forum, post often, get to know the wonderful folks here and enjoy life.

As for taste buds coming back... give it time, sometime the liquids I vape tend to overwhelm my taste buds and I have some minor problems tasting foods, but that is a good thing since I enjoy eating WAY too much.

Oh-Uh! I LOVE spicy food.. I wonder if I'm going to have to tone it down once I get my taste buds back.. I am only on day 2...

Wow! Hi Everybody!

Yes...it really has changed my life. Next thing on the list is - drop some weight - but one thing at a time! But again, I never in a million years thought I could quit smoking. I am still in shock I think! Feeling truly blessed that I have not once had a craving for an analog - even sitting smack in a group of smokers.

It is amazing how comforting it is to find all of the support here! It really is part of the process and I see that now - all I had to do was READ it!!

I do think it's the sweet vapes I like that contain the cravings for the real thing! If the hot cinnamon tastes like I want it to - well my head will probably explode!! But I'm also anxious for the other fruit flavors I got. I find I really like those after a meal!

I have been inspired time and again by new and old members alike - and second to none support is so spot on!!

Too funny! My guess is this is how you will notice your tastebuds again!! I kept thinking they were not going to come back! I love love spicy food too! Now, I really wonder if I liked all the spicey hotness because it's the only freakin way I could really taste it! The weirdest thing is what I want to eat now...no where near what I wanted 3 weeks ago. Can't really figure that one out!

Speaking of obsessing...I realize I DO have stuff to do around here..like say the laundry which is now chasing me around the house! I do have a j.o.b. and even though I work out of my home..I probably should w.o.r.k. so I can pay for my v.a.p.i.n.g habit!!

Be back later and really thanks for all of the replies - it means alot!

blue8091, your story is great! I'm really happy for you. You dropped one bad habit, and got some good ones in return! You sound really confident and happy, never a bad thing.

Something new popped into my head that makes me happy: I got a Coach bag last summer for my birthday, first brand name bag I've ever had, that I've only taken out of the house twice. I can actually use the thing now because it won't reek! WHOOOHOOOO!!! As long as I keep everything sealed up so I don't get a juice leak on it, I'm freaking golden!

CONGRATS BLUE!!!!!! You will be sooooo surprised at all the differences. I didn't think I'd ever quit smoking and thought the e-cig would help me cut down. WRONG-O! I haven't had an analog in 11 months.....and I don't want one. I don't want that smoke in my lungs. I did consider it, from time to time, but I just couldn't see going back to square one. It was over 2 weeks when I told my family. I didn't want to tell them and fall on my face. I only tried to quit one time in 42 years and that was for a week. One drag off my mother's analog, I crashed and burned. That is why I didn't tell everyone. My husband was great support as he quit cold turkey 5 years prior. Cold turkey didn't work for me, but it did for him. Read my sig line.

You can do this!!!!! You will do this!!!!! You are on your way and we are all cheering you along!!!!!!!:)

Saintscruiser!! Thanks so much! I can so relate to not telling anyone. I told one person prior to my kit coming and my brothers and sisters after I hit 1 week..and saving the parents for last. A friend here and there along the way. For the exact same reason - I didn't want to fail and fall flat on my face. But I have not failed and I cannot imagine ever going back to square one. I do feel truly blessed that it has been so ez for me and wouldn't want to push my luck!

LOL@cold turkey is only good in a sandwich! If I didn't do it myself..I wouldnt believe.....

Well, here I am on Day 23 - one week from my one month mark!! WooHoo!

Since I made this post - I found Ejuice..lol!! Yummmm on some Hot Cinnamon! Well, let's be honest - yummm on some hawaiian pineapple, mystic cherry, fruit stripe illusion, fresh mint, Cafe Coffee and Carmelized Capp too!! :w00t:

I've also grown by 5 more 808XLs!!!

I've dropped 13#!! Have not had one craving for an analog yet! I think the poundage thing has to do with water intake and losing my desire for a soda along with sweets! Who knew fruit flavored juices would work like that?! Didn't quit anything but analogs but have found some nice side bonuses!

Aside from that I've met some really wonderful peeps here! So, I'm a happy camper and counting down the next 7 days!

This post reminded me when I first found ECF. I read a post on someone who regained their sense of smell and to them every smelled like .... I thought is was so funny, until I got my sense of smell back and found out how right that person was, but I'm grateful to have found this place and an e-cig that is right for me. The only problem is that there is still about 300 different juices that I want to try.

Keep up the good work blue.
