hi everyone new to vape mods

So I havent smoked a cigarette since january and I'm diving further into the world of vaping.

I recently purchased a kamry kts and I love it. However I didnt buy a charger for my 18650. Does anyone know if its okay to use my ego charger for the time being?

One of the guys at the lower quality retail shop that I go to around my place said that any charger would be fine for that, but they don't have too good of a reputation around these parts....
For my egoC upgrade passthrough when I was using it sometimes I misplaced my original Ego charger and would use a really old camera charger (because that's what fit) and it never seemed to be a problem. Even though I've never used that particular mod, I would say it should more or less be safe to use for the time being. But that's just my opinion and I'm certainly not an expert!

Thats good enough for me. I have no kick if that matters. Also I've been told that ego chargers have built in protection so I guess it should be Ok

As long as it's a "smart" charger it should be ok, but I wouldn't go to sleep with it charging as I have seen them catch fire during charging. It doesn't happen often but it only takes once.

lol the treading on the KTS is too deep for the eGo charger to get to. maybe i'll have to make some modifications and open up the charger

Uh, I would just break down and get a charger for the 18650, and make sure you have at least two batteries. The idea of screwing an ego charger onto a mechanical mod or anything other than an ego battery scares me.

Long story short, I got it working. I'll be watching it as it charges

Since posting it I cut out the plastic covering the charger. Took it apart, then made it so that the charging port is sturdy by putting the screws in with it sticking half way out of that makes sense. I wont be doing this all the time. Just in emergency

Hopefully the experts will chime in, but everything I've been taught over the last two years is you never use a charger on something it wasn't specifically designed for, there is no direct charger for that mod, and loose batts are always charged in a batt charger designed for that type of batt (preferably smart charger). Otherwise, you're asking for failure, which means venting and probably worse.

lol, make sure the button is tight. i would check it to make sure it doesnt get warm on the body or at the button. every 20-30 min i would pop out the battery to make sure it isnt hot.

thats pretty much what i'm doing. So far nothing has happened and its hitting very nicely.


I just ordered a charger. It'll probably get to me around wednesday/thursday
