Hi all

Im new to vaping, I have been smoking for 35 years and decided to have another go at quitting, ive tried hypnosis, patched, gum etc over the years but this time decided to try an e-cig, Ive had one for a week now and seem to get on very well, considering that I smoked 3x50g pouches of golden virginia every week, no cravings after the first couple of days, I purchased 2x eGo MT3 Shisha Pens from an ebay site, I have no idea if I bought well or wasted my cash, I realized today that they need replacement heater coils every every 7 days or so at a cost of about £4 each, is this normal with all makes.

regards Mike

Hi Mike and Welcome to ECF :)

It is normal to replace the coils in the tanks periodically. Some last longer than others and some are more/less expensive for replacements. You chose well with the battery, it should have 510 and eGo threading so you can experiments with several different tanks if you would like :) You can look on vendor sites for pricing on the tank and the replacement coils before selecting so that you know what you are in for.

With most all coils you can also prolong their life by rinsing well with hot water every few refills. You can also do a dry burn if your coil type can handle it and it starts to have a drop off on flavor/vapor production. Im not sure which tank you have, but you can go to youtube and search dry burn a _____ and find a quick video showing you how to do it!

Hey roe stalker, congrats on making the move!!!! I too quit after 38 years and started with nearly the same set up.

Yes, the coils do need to be changed every few days to 10 days depending on usage. You can order them online for about $6USD if you look around. In the mean time, do u have a shop within driving distance to purchase some now ?

Also, after you look into it and do some research (YouTube basically) you'll find great resources there to rebuild your coils, so don't throw them away. Hope this helps.
