Hi everyone. I am new to all of this not to mention belonging to a fourm. I have been smoke free from cigarettes for better part of 2 years. I have been using disposable e cigs for about 3 months. I started them to fill a void that I miss so much. I like the disposable cigs but am looking to move past them to something better. I'm looking for any advice to stear me in the right direction. I have been looking at the Haol Triton for my next step. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I appreciate any advice.

You'll be happy if you buy the Triton. I had it for a long time. You should know, however: the halo system is incompatible with ego and 510 threaded accessories. Meaning, you will not be able to use the nautilus and AeroTanks you may read about in these forums, unless you buy the appropriate adapter.

Design wise, the Triton is similar to the ego and ego twist batteries (twist being variable voltage), with a dual top coil clearomizer (tank). The Triton just has 808 inner and vGo outer threading, as opposed to the more common 510 inner/ego outer threading.

And welcome to the forums!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Also consider the following batteries:

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery. They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging. The 4th one is a step up from an "ego style" battery in that it is a smaller box mod with a very big battery (2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. It is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. Some vapers choose to buy one "ego style" battery as a backup and also purchase the MVP for their main battery.

You will need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) with the first three on the above list. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass) are very popular. The MVP comes with a tank but it is not glass.

Why glass? Here is a great resource regarding "tank cracking" eliquid by ECF member Baditude: Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Make sure to open all his links! Two of those links are:

* A blog post by ECF member The Ocelot titled "EEEKKK it's Melting".
* A "HUGE" list of juice and flavorings that may cause problems as far as cracking, fogging, or etching polycarbonate tanks (compiled by ECF member my4jewels).

I started with Halo and liked them very much. I was very annoyed when I wanted to upgrade to different tanks and found that they are not compatible. I would suggest an ego starter kit. Very good price, and will work with just about everything. Plus I think that bottom coil is much better then the top wick of Halo's.

Despite the incompatibility, I'm still glad I've had a Triton for the past year. The flavor production from the top coil of the Triton is superb. And Halo juices really shine in them. They are high quality; I have not had an issue after heavy use for the past year!

Yes, I recently got a ego twist, then a eleaf Istick. But I'll always have a Triton!

(btw, if you could find an eleaf iStick, and a aspire Nautilus Mini, it is also superb!)

Thank you for the advice on going with the ego. I will definitely be considering this instead. I do appreciate it letting me know that upgrading the halo triton is not compatible with other tanks. I was going into this blind but now I have a little more understanding of things thanks for your help.

I suggest buying from reputable e-cig vendors such as AltSmoke, Discount Vapors, My Vapor Store, etc. Buy only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name.

Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

Welcome to the Forums! I suggest a mech mod personally i love the Atmizoo roller or dingo with the interchangeble head attachments all the power no limits on atomizer types due too connections, and it looks simple and elegant. Just my opinion of course but if you are going to take up vaping as a hobby it will save you money in the long run. Until you decide you want different mods just to collect lol i have yet to find an answer for that one ;D
