Good idea, I'm now at 6mg but I use a sub ohm tank which produces more vapor = more hit
Cloud chaser! Lol

I've been watching a ton of youtube videos and I see those sub vapers out there. I just dont see me getting into that. I don't really want a bigger hit. I want something comparable to smoking, that feels comfortable, that will keep me from smoking, but that I can still enjoy.

THANKS SO MUCH!!

The mig cig I use now is 1.8ohm and it has a constant 4.2. Do you know what wattage that is? (I was going to look up the ohm calculator and try figuring that out lol.

I'm a little confused when you said - get replacement coils. It came with a replacement atomizer, isnt that where the coil is? Do I have to manually replace the coil or can I just replace the atomizer? It says to replace it every 2 weeks or so (500 puffs).

Thanks for the info about putting juice down the center and wick holes, I was going to look for youtube vids to figure all that out! lol
V(squared)/Resistance=Watts, 4.2 x 4.2/1.8= 9.8 Watts. Atomizer is correct, that's the coil, with wick and housing. We just call it the coil for shorthand ;) two weeks is something I've never achieved with a coil for my juices it starts tasting a little nasty and harsher after 3 or 4 days, use your own taster to figure out when to replace :) some like the taste of a crud encrusted coil lol, not me :) I'm assuming you've read the instructions that came with your tank. Right ? Haha

3 or 4 days!!! NOO!!!

I really dont like it when it starts to taste burnt!!

I've been getting around 10 days out of my little mig cig tank. I was hoping I would get more from the nautilus! *Grumbles*

Ok maybe I'll start doing all that manual coil wick stuff (I dont even know what its called lol) sooner than I thought!!

I havent read the directions yet - I just got it yesterday, I figured when I got the battery to put it on, I would spend some quality manual reading and youtube watching, lol!!

When you replace the coil (not the whole atomizer), how long will an atomizer last?

I mean, does the actual hardware still go bad? Should I be saving the atomizers so I have a bunch when I am ready to start wrapping my own coils?

Explain how you go about it please.

What do you use, links maybe? I am watching the damn youtube videos now on how to do this! lol

I dont want to buy new atomizers every few days!

Or do you use something other than something like the nautilus atomizer - is there a specific kind of atomizer that you can put new wires in?

I watched this - it gave me info!

hi @Shameless and congrats on your journey. I've had a few of the Nautilus Mini and they are a great tank. Depending on how heavy you vape you should get a week to 10 days out of a coil with the Nautilus. They are a total pain to learn to rebuild (as in manual coil stuff) due to their small size but it can be done.

You might look into the iStick 30 watt as a mod (battery) to use with the Nautilus. Then if you decide to get interested in coil building (it's pretty easy) you could get the Kanger Subtank Mini which has a deck for building your own coils (rba) and will work great on the iStick 30. You'll need more power with the bigger tanks. Once you get set up with the stuff you need to make coils it's the cheapest way to go, and you can change a coil or just re wick one at your whim.

There are a lot more mods to choose from like the Innokin Coolfire IV and the iStick 40 watt with temp control. Then you can get more confused by trying to decide if you want a mod with replaceable batteries or internal batteries. Then you have the temp control issue (all mods with this function can run just like the batteries you now have in wattage/voltage mode).

The juice quest is the largest struggle of my vape experience. Don't throw out juice you don't like as your taste buds will be changing from getting off the cigs and two weeks from now you may really like them. Hope I didn't make you confused, it's just from where you are in vape you have a lot of options. The Nautilus is a great tank and it may be all you'll ever want or need.

Good luck.

Well you might get longer than I get on a nautilus coil, many people do. :) I get about the same time no matter what type of coils I'm using, its juice specific, not coil specific. I don't rebuild my nautilus coils, they are too tiny for me, haha. I do rebuild my Kayfun Lite + V2 clone, it has a rebuildable deck and is made for that, as is my Kangertech Subtank Mini RBA. I just like the nautilus for convenience, and decent flavor too. :) I wouldn't jump right into rebuilding yet, take your time, read around the forum, get what you have working right, find juices that work for you, and then progress as you wish. Sir2fyablynutz post above has great advice. Rome wasn't built in a day you know haha :D

When you vape at higher wattage, you run through more liquid; the more liquid that runs through the coils the more gunk from the liquid ends up on the coil.

unflavoured is less likely to gunk up coils

I have been watching some youtube videos about doing my own coils and I think youre right. I need to give it a little time. I'm starting to stress out over it and wonder if I should buy something to measure in ml and where to get the cotton and what if I dont wrap the coils right and oh god now I have to buy a little torch! lol

Too much for right now!!! I'm still at the "how do I refill my new tank" stage!!

I've actually been spending alot of time on searching for mods. I'm pretty sure I want variable wattage not voltage (some reviews say they just take all the ohms calculations out of it for ya. I dont want a box type mod - I dont think it will feel right in my hand (this may change but I just quit smoking and I'm not ready to switch to something so unfamiliar feeling yet. I like the ego mini - but I wanted to try out different tanks and that one has a tank with it - so I didn't go that way - but I'm still thinking about it even though I made my purchase so I am probably going to get that too (even though its not VW).

My migcig didnt have any options, no variable temp, vv or vw, no variable airflow, etc. So I think I need to step back and just focus on finding what I like as far as those things go before I look into building my own coils.

I am a little worried about having something without variable temp, since I just quit smoking I like that hot feeling when I take a hit. I dont know if I would like cool vapor at all, at least not now. So that is a concern too.

See what I mean about things getting overwhelming too fast, lol!!

Honestly you're making the correct decision. A real mod (regulated) is the next step you should take. I used my Nautilus for a couple months before deciding to move into the coil building area. I decided to try and cut back my nicotine level before the move as I didn't want that "itch" to bother me again. The first step down was the hardest for me, mostly from lack of confidence. The rest were a breeze.

What I did was keep a cheap clearomizer/tank (like the overpriced mig - sorry but true) with the higher nic in it. Then I vaped a step down of lower nic in my main tanks. When the itch needed scratched I just hit the cheap tank of higher nic once or twice and then went back to the regular vape tanks. It usually took me from 3 days to a week to adjust to the lower level. Half the battle is in desire. I dropped 3mg a month to get down to almost zero nic (I DIY my juice so I am around 1.5 to 1 mostly). I NEVER have a nicotine itch anymore, but I do love my vape and it's almost always close to hand.

There are a lot of "mods" (regulated batteries) out now at really good prices. My first ones were internal battery mods like the iSticks and now I am using the ones with replaceable batteries (when they need charged I replace them and put the used ones in a separate battery charger).

With a regulated mod and the Nautilus all you really need to know is what power setting to use. Ohms law is more for the advanced steps you can grow into.

I would suggest looking at these vendors for shopping for a new mod. You can always come back and start a post to ask for help in deciding which direction you should choose.
