Thanks a lot!Hello @etNemo and welcome to ECF![]()
Hi, and welcome!
Don't let "dual use" get you down, many have gone that route before getting off cigs entirely.
Maybe try different nic strengths? When I began my transition, the first juices I had didn't quite do it. Upped the nic, and haven't looked back.
Welcome to ECF, etNemo. The biggest obstacle I faced, which was actually more of a nuisance than an obstacle, was not being able to just stick a cig in my mouth while I was using both hands to do something. I have always had good 20/20 hindsight, but 8 years ago I had a brief flash of 20/20 foresight and neither me or my lungs miss the over two pounds of TAR that would be in there but isn't.
I am trying to not look back also and I think I am doing good because my cig consumption was up to 2 packs, and now I am just smoking 2-3 some days none, I am hopeful!
Well done!!! That's awesome.
For me the biggest hurdle was that first cig every morning. Breaking that habit was mostly a mind thing for me. It also helped that friends suggested I replace that cig with higher nic. So in the mornings I dripped about a cigs worth, 15-20 hits, of flavorless 18mg juice. That broke the habit and also the game my mind was playing. LOL, no more mind games!!!
I still drip high nic first thing in the morning. Then I switch to my regular 6mg DIY juices.
Thank you!Welcome to ECF![]()
Well I was smoking nearly 40 cigs a day with 0,8 mg nic but I don't in mlIf you're not a cloud chaser, 18 mg/ml isn't much of an issue. You just vape less
But probably not a good idea if you are, as the extra volume might get you a buzz!
Well I am having hard times in the mornings too! And also after eating, craving for it but I am fightingI am gonna give salt nic juices a try but I couldn't quiet understand how they work. 18 mg nic sounds scary!
What mg nic are you vaping now?
To me, it sounds like you should be vaping higher nic juices to help you with cravings. Or if you are satisfied with what you have for during the day you could try vaping higher nic juices after you eat. That might help with those cravings.
18mg freebase nic is light compared to the higher content nicotine salts. Nic salt juices range from 3mg - 50+ mg nic. If I tried vaping a 35mg nic salt I would have a major nicotine buzz going on.
I've never vaped nic salts so my knowledge is limited to the very basics.
As I understand it, freebase nic offers a decent throat hit and is slower absorbing in the blood stream. Nic salts offer little to no throat hit and are fast absorbing in the bloodstream. As far as nic goes, it's my understanding that freebase versus nic salts is 1:1 (6mg is 6mg in either one).
Here is some info on nic salts...

Welcome and glad you joined.Hi I am a Turkish dude,
Hello and welcome, etNemo. Back in 2012 I went through about six weeks of dual use, smoking and vaping, before I chose a quit day. I haven't had another cigarette since that quit day, and I think my success came from taking six weeks to get familiar with vaping products and what worked for me.
I suggest you have to become comfortable with vaping, know what you like, what works every day, what travels well wherever you go, and then you can confidently choose a cigarette quit day.
I wish you a happy and successful vape journey.
