Hi everyone.

My name is Angel and i come from Madrid.

Ive been vaping for one month but i can't stop smoking some cigarettes a day (4 or 5 instead of 20 i used to)

I expect to learn a lot here and quit smoking definitively.

Cheers!

Hello and welcome. Grats on switching to vaping :)
Thanks!!! :)
Hi Angel and welcome!
Thanks!!! :)
Hola Angel,

What kind of device are you using?
What is the nicotine level of the juice you have?

Welcome to ECF.
I
Thanks!!! :)

I'm using a eLeaf iStick Pico 25 with Ello and HW2 Head coils...

I'm vaping eLiquids with 6 mg/ml of nicotine. For a few days i'm vaping my own eLiquids (should I say DIY juice??) and it's very very very satisfying for me to control what i vape...

All of them are 70PG/30VG (more or less...)

Cheers!

PD: excuse my english... it's hard for me "vaping language" in spanish so, imagine in english...

Welcome, Angel, and congrats on wanting to switch to vaping, that is fantastic. Some dual use is totally normal in the beginning, and there are various strategies to use to get rid of those last few cigarettes.

I do wonder if your nicotine is a touch low in that setup. If you have another tank you could use a higher strength liquid in there (maybe 9 or potentially even higher) for those high stress moments when you are really craving a cigarette. I would play around with your nic level some, period. You may need to go a little higher, period, as you are losing those last few cigarettes.

It sounds like you are doing great so far, and if you don't have a backup setup, get one. It might be fun to try something a little different than what you have, so you get to experience different manufacturers or even slightly different styles of vaping. If, say, you decide on a slightly higher resistance setup, you may be able to bump your nic higher, for stressful moments. Or, if you enjoy a cloudy vape, maybe get a setup that is lower resistance and offers more clouds, where you could keep your nic level at 6 to see how you do. DIY is fun, trying slightly different types of vape equipment is also fun, and if you want to transition successfully, at least one backup setup is recommended in case anything happens to yours.

Welcome to ECF and I hope you enjoy your stay here :)

    Welcome aboard Angel :)
I've got a wee pico 75w and love it. Well done on getting down to 5 cigarettes a day. Once you have found the right nicotine level, and a setup you enjoy - vaping will 'taste' and feel better than smoking.

Maybe just try delaying each cigarette by an hour - and vape during that time. If you still really want the cigarette - have it, or if you are OK, delay it for another hour.

    Good luck :)

hey! thank you for the tips!!! Probably i'll try a DIY eliquid with a higher nicotine strength.

I'm thinking getting other equipment, but the hardest part will be to convince my wife...:lol:

I'm looking for some clearomizers with compatible comercial coils. I was reading something about: Eleaf Ello (the one i have), Smok TFV8 Baby Beast, Smok TFV8 Big Baby Beast, Vaporesso NRG... I'll look into this matter and ask in the correct section of the forum...

    ¡¡¡ THANK YOU !!!

I reinforce the idea of using a higher nicotine percent. I started at 36, then 24 and now at 18, which is the highest allowable in Europe now, from what I've been told. The people I know who have had trouble sticking to vaping, and still have a few cigarettes a day, all use a very low nicotine percent. Congratulations and best wishes!

Thanks! In my early days, i read that i might start with 6 mg/ml of nitocine as i smoked 20 cigarettes... I think that's not enough... i'll rise the "dose"...
    Hi and Welcome-
Will Power goes a long way- You need that too along with vaping! Set a date and stop buying cigarettes! Worked for me and I smoked for over 30 years.
Congrats on trying to quit cigarettes!
    Best of Luck!

Thanks for your tip... i'll look for a day... The main problem is that my wife smokes also but a very few cigarettes a day (maybe 2 or 3)... And she doesn't want to start vaping... :|

Thanks a lot!!! I'm going to say to my english teacher that i don't need more english classes anymore while i'm reading (and trying to understand) all this information... :) thank!!!

Its always hard when a spouse still smokes. Probably the best way - if she's like me and headstrong ;) is just to show her by example how much better vaping is.

Once she's seen you quit smoking - having fun with vaping and not smelling like an ashtray - she may want to give it a go too
