Thank-you @Douggro Now I finally know what that means! Yay!

Thank-you @Two_Bears I'm glad I finally got to ask the question. If it wasn't for this forum I would have continued to give the blank stare anytime it was mentioned :)
Glad to help out.

I have been vaping for years, and there are people here vaping much longer than I have.

I see no reason why newbies need to repeat our mistakes so I help when I can.

Welcome to you @dbr_vape ! Yes, there is a lot here and people are very helpful. So many people have had success getting off cigarettes. Actually, there is a sub-forum for Success Stories. In a couple of months, I hope you consider that. It is a place to go and write our story and get some inspiration.

I noticed already that options and some definitions are getting presented to help. People have found a "way" and just want to help others. Our just being supportive is helping not just you, but all of the readers to this thread. With that in mind, when I started I read every day. It is currently 4am for me. Reading and understanding really brings me to better decisions. I imagine I will read later today, too. After 2+ years I don't do much nicotine or even hourly vaping, but I am starting to make my own juices with the help of others here. I am getting a lot of satisfaction out of vaping as a whole. Anyway, I hope you take time to read.

For me, my sense of smell started to come back first and my sense of taste was slower. Smoking just did a lot of damage and they had to heal. I also noticed my breathing started to get better, too. Not much, maybe, but some. My doctor noticed and even my dentist noticed change. With all that in mind, my actually tasting flavors with multiple ingredients was slow.

Anyway, vaping is great and it is a big world to play in. Hope you find the successes that I and many others have.

That is hilarious!! LOL

@kross8 Wow, Congratulations! That is excellent. I can honestly say, I really believe this is the only thing that will finally make it possible for me to get away from smoking. It was such a nightmare to even cut down, but it hasn't been this time. Definitely inspiring :)

i spent most of yesterday helping a friend buy and try vaping stuff. the best advise i had was:

dont consider vaping as stopping smoking,, think of it as you're just 'switching brands' (i think the first 3 days of hand/mouth habits are the hardest)

and to not marry the idea that the equipment you buy will last forever. so buy a back up ecig of a completely dif design. ie,, i have a topbox kanger (love it) but i am screwed if that little chip ever dies,, so i also got a phantus mini and tube type mechanical. both of which will allow me to use tanks and/or try out rba's

Hey Frenchfry would you post a link; I haven't spotted the sub forum for testimonials.

I have been vaping 0 mg nicotine for almost two months. I don't think I ever would have done it without taking baby steps in gradually reducing my nicotine levels.

Agree completely. Backups are important. I vspe three RTAs, and have 6 more RTAs in reserve with another three on the way from fasttech.

I have several mods in reserve.

I am NEVER GOING BACK/TO THE STINKIES!

Although I haven't actually quit smoking entirely, I have certainly cut it down. There are so many pros to vaping, probably one of the biggest advantages for me was that I still think I have that hand to mouth feeling. And the sensation of smoking (and the nicotine, which no one seems to realize occurs naturally in a large number of foods we consume). The oddest parts of vaping is getting used to what in the beginning seems like a rather odd device. My sister kept thinking it looked like people were smoking their pen or marker. LOL.. (she is 2 wks at no smokes and only vaping). The other thing it took me a long time to accept was that I would never find an ecig flavour that would mimic my brand of smokes. And I certainly spent a long time trying to before I realized for what is now obvious reasons that one will never exist. Which is good, considering so much of the taste is from the burning and chemicals. Then there is the stale smell of burnt tobacco that always sticks to you, worse in cold weather. There isn't any of that, at all. :)

It would have been great to have someone walk me through the process when I started, I'm glad you are helping others with this. Backups are a great idea, I have so many ego batteries and those little tanks it's silly. Now I have 3 Aspire Nautilus Minis and 2 eLeaf 30w batteries and currently assessing what to add to this collection of mine.. LOL.

back up equipment is important.. i also think back up ejuice is important.

i have naturally walked myself way down on nic as noted before. yes i have a goal of getting to 0 nic.. but its not something i push myself on,, meaning i am not going to torture/feel guilt over the issue. instead i will find victory in the short periods i vape 0 nic. that said..........

i do think VG will be around forever,, not sure about PG on a retail basis, and i dont really like/want PG.... luckily vodka may take its place or my 'heating vg to thin just long enough to add flavors' will become a major success for me............moving along in my ramblings........i have found i really like sweetleaf stevia Liquid with flavors as an alternative,, i have used quite a bit of the english toffee to get myself through vapors fatigue. (i go kind of heavy at 25% with a bit of nic and at least 50% of vg).... it is not an adv mix UNLEss i have a bad case of VT/VF.. (normally i use dyi extreme spearmint/peppermint also.) i also have atty's dedicated to those flavors,, the flavors work for me,,, but they are not flavors to fall in love with.

i have not yet tried all of the sweetleaf stevia flavors,, but i will.

Why wouldn't PG be available at retail? It's an important component in homemade soaps and lotions. You would be punishing those people. It would be akin to banning Aloe Vera.

i prepare my mind for what would the psycho / govt people take away from vaping. i see so much hate for ecigs as well as ignorance with the media/people.

VG is in soap not PG.

PG is never going anywhere.

It's in ice cream
Flavor extracts
Asthma inhalers
Animal safe antifreeze just to name four things PG is essential for.

Sorry pal. You're 150% wrong. Try again. PG is used in handmade soaps, cosmetics and lotions. Maybe read a label.or two of commercially prepared soaps, cosmetics and lotions and educate yourself before offer any further opinion on this.

Additionally, VG is not as common in bar soaps as tallow.

Did not know it was possible to be more than 100% wrong when I have made soap when every recipe for soap asks for lard, olive oil or Glycerin.

With 2200 posts in 6 months, it's clear you're only here to hear your own voice. All talking. No listening.

When you're done being a know-it-all, Google "propylene glycol in cosmetics"

Sounds to me like you still haven't verified, via a Google search, that you have no idea what you're talking about.

So I stand by my original statement.

We will hsve to agree to disagree. As i said i have made soap, and every recipe i had called for lard, olive oil, Glycerin. Onr recipe called for Coconut oil.

I looked at my soft soap, Ajax, and Dawn dish detergent, two had glyceryl but none had Propylene Glycol.

I am capable of reading labels.
