I appreciate all the time you all have given me. At this point I am all set equipment wise. I have 2 batteries (one voodoo, one kanger), I have my glass kanger clearomizer for most of the time use with Deep Thought in it. I have about five other filled tanks filled with various juices that I am sharing. And because of the fact that I have a four yr old and 7month old I have my juices and spare clearomizers in a locked box. So for a while (until I need to buy coils) I think I am set equipment wise.
The questions I still have are in the area of maintenance. I understand that the coils can last approx. a couple weeks (10-14 days) But how do I know it needs changing? Also I did pick up my kanger glass tank which breaks down completely so I see that it cleans easily, but what do I use? And one more that also has to do with cleaning is if I use an ejuice that I do not like what is the best way to clean so I can use a new ejuice without the two blending into a horrible mess?
Some of coil changing is subjective "doesn't taste as good". I mean if the coil burns out, it just doesn't work at all. But exactly how long one lasts is slippery.
The little heater coil heats up and cools down repeatedly and it wears. Also, stuff "gunks up" on it over time. Some cleaning helps. I don't do anything all that complicated myself (my coil heads cost $3 so there's a limit to how much time I'll put in

). I have extras so I have a little "rotation" going.
I soak overnight in plain water. Let air dry. Put at end of the small "line" of coils ready to use. When a coil reaches "huh, I don't like this" it get tossed and a new one comes out of the box (I buy little boxes of 5 online).
How often? I don't know. Not so much that it's a noticeable expense (and I'm on a tight budget right now, check to check kinda thing, I hate it). The whole thing is based on "feel". Taste, vapor production, whether I "like it" (some of which may be nicotine uptake which all us smokers did by "feel"... you just knew you wanted a smoke).
There are other techniques like vodka rinses and dry burns and using distilled water (I probably should, we have "hard" water here). It's worth poking around YouTube when you have time as for every clearomizer out there, somebody did a video. It can help to see things done rather than just reading. Especially because a lot of is quite simple and when you see it, you go, "oh that's easy".
Far as switching juices, same thing basically. An overnight soak leeches out most of the previous juice from the wicks. Most other parts of a clearo you can just rinse out. Having spares of the ones you end up liking and using most is, of course, something you'll want to do. Since I've settled on the iClear 30S for 99.99999999% of the time, I've picked up spares along the way. And kept parts from one I managed to bust. So I can always assemble a "new" one from the parts cabinet.
First, though, get a couple of spare coil heads. Having one up and burn out (and they do from time to time) is a pain. I always have a couple of spares with me. Just in case. And coil heads alone are usually fairly inexpensive. Even at shops.
