I've been using these Clearos with a 1.8 coil for a while now. I like them on the whole but the leaking as you get to the bottom of the tank is starting to annoy me. I've been doubling up on the grommets to try and combat this but nothing really seems like a permanent fix.

With it being Christmas time, I've decided to treat myself to an upgrade.

I'm looking for a new Clearo, preferably bottom coil tank with a 3ml capacity that will fit on the standard EGO batteries, although I'm not opposed to upgrading the battery to if need be. I've used the T3S for years now so I have no idea what's good or not.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated

Cheers! and Merry Christmas!

Next upgrades I would suggest would be if you can find one a Protank Version 2, or Protank Mini Version 2, the Aerotank/Protank are so so, maybe even look at the T3D (upgraded dual coil version of the T3S). After that you will be needing a little more power output, but the Nautilus and Nautilus Mini by Aspire is a great upgraded tank, the Nautilus looks a little lopsided on an Ego, but if you have variable voltage (Twist Version) just might push it to optimal performance, otherwise it will function but you will not get the most out of it. A matching power device that works really well with it is the Eleaf iStick 30watt or 40watt TC, only about $10 difference in price between the two, the 40watt TC has more expansion with its Temperature Control features, but there you need a tank that uses TC Nickel or Titanium coils to use it, but it offers future expansion. More watts than a Nautilus will need (Nautilus works very spectacularly at the 12 to 18watt range), but the iSticks offer nice power output, charge length, all in a little compact device with just needing a Micro USB charging cable to recharge, and can fit in a pocket really easy for carrying.

an iStick 30 (2200 mah) watt (or the 40 watt-2600 mah) with the Aspire Nautilus Mini.

Been using the T3S for nearly a year now. I fixed my flooding problem by recoiling and rewicking my coils with cotton.
I have just recently gotten an VTC Mini and a Kanger Subtank Mini. I think you will like it with the 1.2 ohm Vertical coil. No leaking at all and a nice vape and you can shut down the airflow to mimic the T3 draw if you desire.
Your options are endless though but I thnk you will need to upgrade your battery source. The VTC mini the Kanger Subox mini, the Istick 30, Coolfire 4 are all decent options. The iStick 30 has it's own battery the other two will require you to buy 18650 battery.

I agree with you on the T3...always leaky on the last 1/2 of the tank. The protank series can work but most anything with 3mil capacity will seem top heavy on an ego sized battery. I honestly have the best luck with evod or protank mini on an ego, but they are both in the 1.5-1.8 mil size. To get the capacity and have it look and feel right, you'll likely go with a bigger battery. Still, a protank/aerotank will work with a beauty ring to stabilize it.

Wow @Stu_ You're back!!

I used T3S and even with the latest cotton wool coils they were never totally reliable.

Pretty soon you'll get recommendations for 1,000 watt subohm tanks and 3-battery mods.

You could get a mini Nautilus, but on an eGo it'll be rubbish. You won't get a decent vape off it. I know, because I tried. Forget it.

Go for a K1 or upgrade to a little box mod and open the door to most of the really great tanks out there. If you buy a Big Protank, I will never speak to you again.

Anything "Protank" will give you the same results as the T3S. I know, because I tried it.

I've tried everything, and yes! I am opinionated.

Dave. :)

Wow, very nice to be remembered @djsvapour . Hope all is well?

You'll be happy to know that I've stayed away from the cigs and have been vaping happily since then.

I've actually gone and ordered the Eleaf I stick and Mini Nautilus setup... will keep the T3S and Ego batteries on hold for a rainy day

Man... you are a hero to the cause of iStick/Nautilus. :thumb:

I kept all my Mini Protanks (4) and T3S (3) too. They were quite good, just a little unreliable.
I think I still have some OCC coils (Kanger SOCC or TOCC) for them too.

yes... I am good, thanks. I remembered you because of the avatar/photo thing. :)

Hi guys, a very noobish question on the Nautilus Mini and Eleaf Istick combo...

I've not had much experience with variable voltage in the past and what I'm reading is confusing me.

I ended up getting the 20w Istick (maybe should have gone with 30w but anyhow)
The Mini comes with 1.8ohm coil

On looking at the ohm/voltage charts that indicate the 'sweet spot' levels, it seems to suggest that with the setup I have, I should be vaping at around 3.9 volts. But I'm reading stuff online about needing to increase the vaultage much more than that... Surely this will just burn the coils out?

@Stu_

The latest 1.8ohm coils are good up to 15 watts, unless you have super-thick liquid.

(off to the kitchen.... walk, walk...)

(the dog looks hungry)

My iStick is set to 5.0 volts exactly. 1.8ohm coil, 5.0v, 14.2 watts.

The newest coils on the market exceed all the previous charts.

Some liquids I run at 12.8. I've not burned one at all in months. I don't think I've ever burned a new one.... they are fab!!

Set it to make you happy. Woof :)
