Hi all and happy new year to you all,

I have finally bit the bullet and I am going to send my two redundant battered and bruised Reo Grande's back to the God who made them.... for a very needed refurb.

In two day's they will be on the plane (first class might I add with extra Extra leg room) to the Reo Sanctuary.

I have not been active in ECF for quite some time as I have tried every single mod you can buy on the market that lasts for a day or so until you wish that the next one will be as good or even better than a Reo Grande.
May I tell you all now that this foolish path has cost me more than sending the Grand to sanctuary in the long run. Be Warned, Do Not Turn To The Dark Side :D

So with my heart on my sleeve, when Master Rob receives the Grand'es, have I missed anything else that I would need to keep these Beasts going?
I am now going to stock up so that another millennium might pass with a Reo Grande in my hand and no tear may shed my eyes ever again!

I only use 18650's so do you think I should stock up on the normal rba's or go DC.

Any help appreciated gang.

Thank you
Format

Welp, you're going to be getting the new gold contacts (firing pin and spring) and a beefier firing button, so that's a big improvement. To maintain them, some deoxit gold is recommended (to be put on the contacts and prolly your battery leads as well.

The new contacts will allow you to go to lower ohm builds with confidence, which leads to the next burgeoning thing on the reo scene - bf RDA's. Chances are you have the "standard" catch cup on your grands, so you might want to have Rob mill the cup down to Low Profile (LP) if you're going to go the RDA route - that would allow you to take advantage of all the cool new atties that work great with reos (the LP milling is needed so that they all fit and connect, as many of them are larger than the 17 mm that the standard cup accepts).

If you want to check out atties, Rob's site has 6 or 7 choices to peruse - from small chamber flavour bombs like the RM2 or RM3 to big steam engines like the RM5 or RM6. There is also a thread in ECF hosted by a reonaut that's all about bottom feed modified atties for use with reos. It's a lot to take in, so maybe do some reading and ask a lot of questions.

If you're a dedicated 18650 vaper, Rob has plenty of new grands available, including the Super Light (SL) design, which you really should take a look at. He also has another woodvil sale coming up and he's been teasing us of late with a brand new design of resin reo (there's an active thread in here on that last one).

So, welcome back, have a vape and soak it all in, and reach out with whatever you need to know :toast:

Welcome back Format!

What a testimony for the Reos!

I think papa Laz covered most of it, but start sacing your pennies for the upcoming resin Reos! Check out the thread for them, there's only a few right now, but if they're any indication, there's going to be some stunning colors!
