Hello,

I just got my E-cigs a couple days ago at the mall. They're smoke 51 brand. I also bought some liquid, chocolate and tobacco flavored. (low nicotine) I also have a box of the filters that came with the pack. The guy who sold it to me didn't tell me much about anything. I guess I burned out my atomizer my first day and had to go back and get another one.

So here are my questions.

1. How many hits can I take from the E-cig an hour/day?

2. How long does 2-3 drops last? I put in the drops and in half a day I am not making hardly any smoke. I used 8 drops in one day but the guy told me only to use 2-3 drops and I think it's supposed to last a day and a half but it doesn't.

3. Can I push out the cotton part on the filters already pre filled with nicotine liquid and keep filling those?

4. If I wanted to mix some flavors together and use glycerine would I get the next highest nicotine strength than I want to smoke because when I am done mixing it would be diluted?

5. Even after I put drops in it seems to not make as much smoke after a short time, why is this?

Thank you!

Oh golly, you do need some help, someone will be along soon, with some good advice

For now, heres mine

So here are my questions.

1. How many hits can I take from the E-cig an hour/day?

As many as you like, same as cigarettes, stop when you feel sick

2. How long does 2-3 drops last? I put in the drops and in half a day I am not making hardly any smoke. I used 8 drops in one day but the guy told me only to use 2-3 drops and I think it's supposed to last a day and a half but it doesn't.

2-3 drops gives me anywhere between 5-10 drags, but im on a passthrough, and a 6v mod

3. Can I push out the cotton part on the filters already pre filled with nicotine liquid and keep filling those?

Yes, just wash and dry them good, after a couple of cycles though, they start to taste bad, change them then

4. If I wanted to mix some flavors together and use glycerine would I get the next highest nicotine strength than I want to smoke because when I am done mixing it would be diluted?

Order a proper mixing kit from somewhere like Totally Wicked, you wont be disappointed

5. Even after I put drops in it seems to not make as much smoke after a short time, why is this?

Yup, you used up all the juice, top off your cart or direct drip

Keep going, every lesson you learn will double your vaping experience

Thank you Glen! That was incredibly helpful. I was worried that I was putting to many drops in. When I returned my atomizer the second guy said I am only supposed to take 5 drags and hour and I'm like whhaattt! I'm trying to not smoke cigs but only 5 hits an hour is making me smoke like 6 or more cigs a day because I am having cravings. The guy said the two bottles I have are supposed to last 4 months each. Two or three drops doesn't last that long though?? I'd imagine both of them would last 2 months. They aren't that big. I appreciate your help. The new filters I use last half a day too, not a day and a half like he said. Love the yoda avatar!

lostinvapor,
Your dilemma with how much to use is a common one. I started out with an NPro e-cig (those hold about 5-6 drops of juice), but quickly went to a DSE801 for the larger cart size, I was so tired of refilling. I vaped constantly for a few weeks, until I finally got a juice with a higher nicotine(24mg/ml) and started using more how much I needed rather than how much I wanted. It can be tough for awhile, but eventually it will all even out. I decreased my juice nic now down to 12mg/ml, and when I'm ready will go down again. It's far easier decreasing nic with an e-cig than to cut down smoking cigarettes, because you still are doing the hand to mouth habit. I've had NO withdrawal symptoms at all, after the first 2 months, then was thinking I was just starving to death! (I was a HEAVY smoker). My over-all use of my PV is decreased as well, 10ml of juice lasts me almost 10 days, unless I get stressed out or over-tired working extra hours, for example. Some days are longer than others! When I started, I was using 30ml every two weeks! I'm coming up soon on 1 year, it has been an incredible time of healing for me.
Best of luck to you.

I can't shake this nagging feeling that you should do a search for your brand here in the forum. And I don't think you are going to like the results. Most people who got told crap like this also payed definitely too much for less-than-perfect PVs.

Tried looking a bit and not to much came up. Will keep searching.

Yeah, I usually smoke Ultra Lights, but then again I always smoked 2 in a row every time before stopping. Maybe the lowest nicotine dose is to low for me.

If you can't find the vendor, try to find out what kind of PV you have. You probably will have to look for pictures, or wait until your 15th post to be able to post some yourself. There are vastily different PVs on the market, and what helps with one does not necessarily help with the other.

I found that it is impossible to predict what nic level people will vape from what they smoked before. While in general those who smoked light tend towards lower nic levels, there are people who smoked lights and now vape 24mg/ml juice. And in turn, some who were heavy smokers are down to low nic levels very quickly.

Also I get fluid in my mouth from time to time after I inhale. Am I doing something wrong?

Most likely this is not juice, but condensed water with traces of juice. It's unavoidable, but some PVs are more susceptible to the problem than others. Does not taste good, but is harmless. If you get juice proper in your mouth, believe me, you will notice the difference 8-o

lostinvapor, if you got the fifty-one trio and you're getting liquid in your mouth, it might be how you are filling them. Are you dripping directly into the cartride? or are you using a bobby pin to push out the little white insert at the end of the cartridge and filling it, then putting it back in the cart? If you're dripping right into the cart, you might be missing the cotton, and theres not much room between the cotton and the mouth peice. I bought a fifty-one about 2 weeks ago and thats what i started vaping with. the guy at the mall told me the cartridge was the equivalant of a pack of cigs and should last me a day or 2, BOY DID HE LIE! there carts are so inconsistent, some would last me 8 hits, some would last me 8 hours. Some of the carts i got didn't have any juice in them at all! i ordered a 510 and some juice, and it's like a whole new world of vaping.

Yes, there's a fine line at some point you can only vape so much, so if you're still feeling the panic button (the one that says "Need Nic!"on it ), then perhaps a little higher nic density will curtail the urge to vape feverishly. It still does require a little self discipline, but do give yourself some time for everything to work itself out. At least a couple months, but try to work out the new limits you put on yourself. Change away from vaping/watching TV, or vaping/driving, or can't go to the bathroom or answer the phone without your PV....try to cut back on those trigger habits, just like you did when trying to cut down smoking, this is the same thing, while at the same time you are doing no harm with the e-cig. I think this is very exciting, to be able to carry on without harming you or your family, MHO! The better you feel the easier it all falls into a natural cadence. Then the part about keeping your equipment accessible and ready and in stock with the supplies...that will get easier too, after a time you don't really have to think about it. Key words: DON'T PANIC, and always treat Nicotine with respect and safety in mind. Away from kids and pets and all.
And don't be fooled by those cigarettes that claim low tar, low nicotine, low anything: they packed just as much toxic harmful chemicals as full-flavor cigarettes, that's all supposed to be a dirty little secret. We now know better.
