yep, i'm new here and glad i finally found a forum on the topic of e-cigarettes.

Also, i'm a new to using e-cigs... i actually stopped smoking a little over a year ago, and have been using nico-patches the entire time... i know, they dont' recommend it after <x>-days, but well... they didn't recommend smoking after i had started that until years later!

anyway, i've been cycling between 20mg to 5mg patches off and on over the months and learned something about myself... i'm a terrible person if i dont' got my nicotine!

I settled down to 10mg a day by cutting patches in half (the generic 20mgs') and this has been working ok... but something was still missing.

I would say that in the past 4 months, i learned that during transitions (work, home, etc.. name it), i found myself still craving a smoke and decided after testing out a disposable a week ago, that i actually liked the vapor.

no smell, no stink-tray perfume, no one smells anything, no coughs, no lung stress, nothing.. it was like mana to my mouth.

well, i knew a little about vaping from a few days of digging around.. and decided to just go ahead and try the blu's (please don't throw rocks at me) and ordered a kit and some disposables. yes, it has its' limitations i know, but i like the style and didn't want to feel like i was holding a roll of quarters to my mouth.

anyway, the only thing i would like to now know more about is refilling. i've taken a few cartridges apart, and it seems like it would b easy to just put a few drops of liquid in there and keep rocking...

is this possible?

how many times would i be able to refill one of these things before having to toss it out?

if i purchased a 30ml bottle of <insert named juice brand here>, how many drops should i put in the thing and should i give some settling time?

anyway.. lots of questions.. i tried digging around, but there 's a lot of info here that i just am now discovering.

thanks for any info you care to share!
:p

A quick video by Steeljan about refilling cartos here: VOLT - Cartomizer FILL & REFILL demonstration - Smokeless Image - YouTube

A slightly more advanced one, with the taryn spin! (that's the method I personally use): How to fill a cartomizer with the condom fill and spin - YouTube (by Mr. Outlaw)

Also, Blu might not be the best brand, even For cigarette-like devices. You could check some alternatives, as the Smoov (see PBusardo's review here: A PBusardo Review - The Smoov E Cig - YouTube), or the Smokeless Image Volt (see Mr. Outlaw's demo here: Smokeless Image Volt Demonstration and CE3 Cartomizers - YouTube).

"how many times would i be able to refill one of these things before having to toss it out?": when it stops performing well (e.g., burnt taste, hard draw, no flavor), toss it out. You can also try to boil and "resuscitate" your cartos, but that might be an overkill for the price.

And obviously, if you enjoy vaping, look around for all the other options available (vivi novas, ce3s, dripping, etc...–the ce3 being a viable option even if you still use a cigarette-like device).

Hope that helps. Happy vaping!

Tripple digits half way to home
Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. I started a couple of years ago with the blu's. Long story short I got COPD and HAVE TO STOP SMOKING ANALOGS. Let me say that again. HAVE TO STOP SMOKING. If I don't I will die or carry an o2 bottle with me the rest of my life. I joined this forum. I studied like I was in school. Finally broke down and made my decision. I wound up with 2 kGo 1100mah battery starter kits.

Before they were delivered I got a JOYE eGo 1000mah starter kit. I was a heavy smoker about 2-3 packs a day. I'm proud to say that with the help of the good people here on ECF I've gone from dieing to living. Do your homework and find some that works for you. Best wishes in your new adventure in life. It really does work.

ya, i decided to never go back to smoking regular cigarettes... after a few months on patches, i tried one and was like "what the hell was i thinking"...

and i seriously had enjoyed smoking too... nothing like a nice cup of hot coffee and cigarette in the morning.

but now, i can grab my vaporizor and not even have to go outside.. i'm seriously excited! lol.. i'm a total nerd too btw...

The last time I tried the patches I had to quit because they made me feel contentious. Any little thing would set me off, so I stopped using them. And the other very important reason was that I'm allergic to adhesive tape and every time I changed the patches a layer of skin cells came up with them. Ouch!

Welcome to ECF!
