Hello and welcome to the forum @BuddhistLove. Glad to have you here!:)
I'm thinking of getting a uwell crown sub ohm atty soon. Does anyone know if it's compatible with an ipow 2?
The ipow 2 CANNOT fire a subΩ coil and only goes up to 15 watts.

My opinion -- If you want to use the subΩ coils that come with the crown you will need a mod that ideally goes up to 75 watts (or higher). I run the 0.25Ω coil at between 70-85 watts.

Thank you a bunch Susan! This really helps and I'll keep it in mind!
Do you happen to know what a mod like that is called and what it costs?

You can get an eLeaf Pico (75 watts) for around $30.00 in the USA. The Pico can be run in power/wattage mode or temperature control mode. Since the crown coils are stainless steel they can be run in either mode.

You would still need to purchase a couple of 18650 batteries and a charger. The mod uses one battery but you will need two so you can still vape while your other battery is charging.

Oh, and also, how much more juice does it use than, say, a kanger mini protank 3?
A LOT more. SubΩ coils and high wattage vaping DRINK the juice.
  • When I used a mini protank (1.8Ω coils) I used approx 4-5 mls/day.
  • When I vape at 50 watts I go through 15 mls/day
  • When I vape at 75+ watts that can increase to 20+ mls/day
You may want to explore DIY if you are going to get into high wattage vaping or only use your high wattage tank for part of the day.

Hi friends,

How are you?

I'm new to the forum and just had a question if I may.

I'm thinking of getting a uwell crown sub ohm atty soon. Does anyone know if it's compatible with an ipow 2? Thanks in advance!

Not familiar with the mod but if it does indeed only fire up to 15W I would recommend a newer mod that does at least 60W on a single battery (or 40W, but 60-75W seems to be the standard these days).

I have the Uwell crown and have tried all their prebuilt coils. The highest I've needed to comfortably vape that tank was around 40W - on normal daily usage, I believe with the 0.25ohm coils (if thats still the lowest). Ofc your mileage may vary but yes time for a new mod.

Thank you Rice! I took Susan's advice and bought an Eleaf istick Pico (75 watts) with a melo 3 atty. Should hopefully come tomorrow. I'm excited! Should be interesting!

Have the pico and love it as well. Its probably still the smallest single 18650 mod to date. I use it when I travel.

I just tried fitting the crown on the pico. The fitting is IFFY due to the protruded piece with the knurling for the airflow adjustment rubbing against the battery door that you screw on the mod. You can get the tank in but its going to be slanted and you will probably have a gap on 1 side, not sure if the 510 is going to make a connection as I don't have a coil in the tank.

Yeah, I don't think that's going to be a problem since I'm not getting the Crown. I ordered a kit and it comes with the melo 3. Supposedly it's compatible with the pico otherwise they wouldn't sell them together in a kit. Thank you for the advice, btw!

Even better, enjoy your new gear.
