Man, am I glad I found this site. Do you know what happens when you Google "electronic cigarette reviews?" Yea, I'm pretty sure you do.

Tried an e-cig four or five years ago, and drawing on the thing was like trying to suck Play-Doh through a cocktail straw. Liked the idea, was kinda iffy on the taste (using pre-filled cartridges), and eventually went back to analogs (I LOVE that designation for regular smokes, it's brilliant).

Now, thanks to all of your great reviews, I've ordered a Volt starter pack with some blanks, and am now shopping juice makers. I just learned today that there are such things as juice makers. Who knew?

Anyway, hoping and praying that vaping will help my kick the ashen habit!

Welcome to our little community! As you have probably seen already, these forums are FILLED with great people who love to help out new-comers, so if you have ANY questions please ask!!

As for juice vendors, I'll recommend my favorites!
Mountain Oak Vapors - The Best USA E-Liquid and E-Juice
Rawr Vapor: Home page

A lot of people like Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Vape Dude's, Alien Vision, and Mrs.T's Bakery just to name a FEW. There are so many vendors out there, and juice is ALWAYS a personal preference type thing.

This habit becomes overwhelming very quickly, so don't give up!! It takes a few weeks to get down the lingo and figure out what you like the best, so stick to it! GL!

Welcome aboard BassMent. Good choice with the Volts. They have the bigger X2 as well if you feel like a bigger pv a bit later on. Yeah, quite few people make juice. I was amazed when I first saw all the flavors. Its fun trying them out. Buy small bottles to start with - you get better variety to try out that way.
Mt. Baker Vapor is another good one, use coupon code ecf for 10% off.
Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes, USA made E Juice, and Accessories

Let us know how it goes - lots of folk here ready to help out and support.

Wow, thanks to all for the warm welcomes! I'll check out your recommends. I've already looked at Alien Visions, Lots Of Vapor, Johnson Creek, Vermillion River and Alice in Vapeland. My head is spinning! Right now I'm looking for something that will emulate an analog, but I'm interested in the fact that most of you veteran vapers have moved on to other kinds of flavors.

You won't find anything that is exactly like an analog, but you may find some tobacco flavors that you like anyway. You also might be surprised at what other flavors you like. I said I was not interested in fruit flavors, but got a free sample once and discovered I really liked an apple one. As your taste buds revive you may find yourself seeking out more variety.
That's the value of getting a bunch of different small bottles of juice - if you don't like one you may find another that you love.

I haven't found a flavor yet that emulates the taste of cigarettes. However, the tobacco flavors I've tried and vape are much better. I'm currently vaping Spring Vapor's Black Label tobaccos and enjoying the heck out of BL Honey Flue Tobacco, RY4, and now am waiting for some of their fruit flavors in their "breeze" and "frost" lines.

I came full circle. When I started vaping I couldn't get far enough away from tobacco flavors. Around the 6 month mark I tried a few (was actually pulling together a kit for my nephew who only wanted tobacco flavors) and tried a few. Now I only vape tobaccos with funky flavors only on occasion. My favorites right now: AVE Boba's Bounty & Gorilla Juice, Ikenvape RY4 Gold, Heather's Heavenly Vapes Gandalf and Shadowfax (both are extracted tobacco flavors really nice).

I'm going to have to buy more blank cartos, it seems!

I've managed to whittle my intake down to 4-6 analogs per day, but I know that's still too much. Tried gum/lozenges, but it's really the "activity" of smoking that I think I love. I think vaping will be a much easier transition off of analogs, because there's stuff to keep my hands busy!

Most folks go through a transition period. General philosophy is that any analog replaced by vaping is a step in the right direction (the proverbial marathon vs. sprint analogy...). If you consciously try to replace your normal smokes eventually vaping becomes the norm. I do remember when I was making the final transition and was really jonesing for a smoke, my wife literally sat me down at the kitchen table with an ecig and said keep going till it goes away. I got a nic headache but never touched a smoke again :)

Interestingly, it turns out for us I was the enabler (or the real addict depending on how you look at it). Seems my wife only really smoked to hang out with me (sans the occasional smoke with a drink...). She used my stick batts for a while after I moved on to bigger PVs/Mods but hasn't touched a thing in over 6 months. The realization that she was smoking a couple packs a week because of me was a "tough pill to swallow".
