Hi, first post, long time lurker. Just got my provari. Brand new to vaping, so basically I have no idea what im doing. My understanding is I clean the tank with hot water, (protank), then fill it with e juice, then jam the ohm thing in then screw the bottom on the tank, screw the tank onto the provari, chuck in a battery and its good to go?

I had a good search, couldnt find any basic setup information even in the instruction manual.

Thanks for any advice.
BTW for some reason I couldnt post in the provari section.

Here's the instruction manual from the Provape site: http://www.provape.com/v/images/ProVariManual.pdf. Youtube is also your friend and you could do some searches for Provari reviews.

new members have to have 5 posts in this forum before they can post in others. That helps keep the spammers away from the rest of the site.

Congratulations and welcome. I think you'll like it once you try it. Don't hesitate to ask questions, there are a lot of people here who can give you great suggestions and recommendations.

Welcome to ECF!

I suggest cleaning the tank with hot water and drying it out with a paper towel and let it air dry for a bit (just enough to get the majority of the water out). Then assemble the Protank, fill with e-liquid, and be sure to leave a little bit of air in the tank to keep the tank pressured (leave at least 1/8th of an inch of air when filling). Next you need to figure the voltage setting. What resistance (Ohms) is the head?

Sounds like you have got it down. Only you don't have to rinse the protank unless you had fluid in it or your changing to a different fluid. And you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can do certain things on this forum. Read the "New Members Rules"

I suggest cleaning it for the first time to get rid of whatever processing gunk that could possibly be there... call me paranoid haha

I suggest you mail it to me here in CA, so I can break it in for you. :2cool: Don't worry, just a friendly service, you may actually get it back.

Can't believe nobody else jumped in with that yet.....:D

Actually.... you beat me to it. Also... I suggest cleaning the tank before using it also.

Good luck with the Provari! You will not be disappointed. That is a great way to start vaping. Many of us wish we hadn't wasted money on a lot of sub-par mods and/or batteries before getting one.
I just got the ProTank 2 and it works well. I have the 2.5ohm heads, started off at 4.4V and found my sweet spot at around 5.0V with 50/50 juice. Only problem is that the first head only lasted 3 days. I am okay with that, as this is the first tank I've found that doesn't leak (so far).
For almost 2yrs with Provaris, most of my vaping has been with 3.0ohm cartomizers at 5.0V +/-.
Cartomizers are tried and true and IMO the most reliable atty. They usually last me about a week, give or take a day or 2.
Happy Vaping!

Hmmm Thanks heaps for all the advice, absolutely highly appreciated. Diving head first into vaping is not like buying a new car where u can read all the basic buying guides. This is like a foreign language to me. Id never vaped before, but my friend from England came over with a ~100 buck vape and after I tried that, spent about 3 days straight researching these forums and decided i couldnt go too badly wrong with a provari.

I bought the Provari brand E-Juice, the 24mg juice (just so i could start vaping right away). The provari came with i think a 1.8ohm thing and a 2.1 ohm thingamabob, which thingamabob + voltage would be a good starting point? and then do I just increase the voltage to get more steam? I want to get off the analogs as rapidly as possible, and am smoking about 15 12mg ciggies a day atm.

Thanks for all your excellent advice.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated. Got it all assembled and ready to go, smoked very nice. I opted for the 1.8 ohm thing, with a voltage of 3.4v, and it is very nice. It feels like such a quality device. Just a couple of quick questions,

It says in the manual for the pro tank to just put 2.5 mls in, however i had to put heaps more than that in to get the glass part of the tank 2/3 full, which is what it looks like people generally fill to on the provari forum picture thread. Is this OK?

So far my only disappointment is that the flavor is not great, I went for the provari E Juice, whitehorse tobacco flavor 24mg. It looked like this was just a regular tobacco flavor, but it definately has some kind of weird vanilla taste that I dont really like at all.

What is the best tobacco flavor e juice with no other flavors?

This community is fantastic, and I am going to try and enjoy vaping to the max before either the government, big tobacco or the pharmaceutical industry spoils it for us.

Fill with juice, allow wicks to saturate with juice, crank up the voltage, vape. Might want to check the ohms, see which head you are using. Vape, :vapor::vapor::vapor: so you know what watt you are cooking at.

Congrats, and welcome to Club Provari!!

Hey, did you get the secret decoder ring, and instructions for the secret hand shake? Still waiting on mine, they seem to have forgotten it with my order. I did get the ipp for the secret web site, but was so looking forward to the decoder ring.
