I've been smoking analogs for about 40 years. It was the price that finally got to me. The way I would smoke would be to duck outside for 1/3 to 1/2 of a cigarette and throw the rest away (really hated 1/2 smoked analogs, ugh!).

Well I was going through about 12+ packs a week that way and the other day I added that up to about $3500 / year!!! As James Brown would say "Good God Ya All!".

The e-cigs solve the main problem by letting me grab a few drags on the run without having a smelly remainder and also by being cheaper to begin with. I am using a Smoke-Tip two cartridge system with disposable cartomizers and even these are only a third the cost of a pack of analogs.

It's been a week now and the only analogs I've smoked were a pack that I already had open when I received my ST last Monday. I smoked the last one Saturday, well I took three puffs off of it, it now tastes like crap to me.

I just joined here and wanted post my tale which I'm sure is like many, many others.

Hi and welcome! I was a 1/2 cig smoker whenever I was in a hurry or only had a brief time outside (like from the store to the car, from the car to the store).

BTW Smoketip is KR808D-1 so you can use KR808D-1 standard resistance blank cartos, parts and accessories (not the LR cartos - those are for fat battery models) and you can use the Vapor4Life cartos (blanks and prefilled). As well as their various size batteries and manual batteries.

I think Smoketip may use the shorty batteries (180mah). I use standard manual Vapor4Life batteries (280mah)

Funny how, though I always hated re-lighting those half cigs, I wasn't above sorting through butts in the ashtray, when I was out... LOL

I've only been at this a few weeks, and have so far spent a lot more than I would have on analogues. Then again, I've now got enough kits, juice, cartos, etc to last me a year. And I have some starter stuff to give away to friends. And that is after spending what I would have in two or so months or regular smoking.

Love your username, whodat1!!! LOL, you from New Orleans too?

Who-dat, No I'm not from N'awlins. Back in the '80s & '90s I had to travel there to work all the time. After about 400 trips there, I heard the phrase constantly and liked it enough to make it my email address (which I still have). I'll be honest, if I'm watching a NFC game, I'll root for the Saints but I'm a Steelers fan from the '70s. Someday we'll have a real Black & Gold Superbowl!

Dormouse, when I ordered my Smoke Tip I noticed it was compatible with V4L. Since their flavor selection was huge (and ST was just about out of everything), I went ahead and placed an order with V4L for some sampler cartomizers. V4L botched my order, they said they were out of the samplers and instead sent me a bunch of crap I didn't want. I would have prefered them delaying until my order was in stock again or getting a refund, but the sent me all the crap they don't sell instead. My order was for 2 five packs of carts, 5 Menthol, 5 Regular in the 18mg strength. (and also some recharging gear, which they did get right). What the sent me was 11 carts in different flavors (cocktails & fruits) none of which was 18mg. To make up for it they also sent me 9 bottles of juice assorted flavors in medium strength. I don't refill (I've only had e-cig for a week), so these are useless to me.

Yes, I have the 'short' 180mah batteries. I bought 2 more from ST giving me a total of 4. I dont think that I can have too many batteries.

Throw half a cigarette away? Blasphemy. I just smoked them faster. I could suck a whole one down in a minute flat. You can blame the army.

As far as V4L goes, their carts can be a little sketchy. I've had a lot of dry carts, or ones that just tasted off. I think the problem is that the less common flavors sit around for a while. That being said, they will take care of you, and their customer service is great. Even though 9 bottles of juice may not be useful right now, that's almost half a years supply of juice alone. (YMMV) You should hang on to them, throw them in your freezer. Later, you'll buy some new gear, i promise. kr808d-1's have a use life of about 3 months, give or take, and if you're using the little one, probably will be more take than give. Let me suggest 2 courses of action:

1.) Pickup an ego kit, and add a tank atomizer and box of tank carts. That'll give you something to use your juices on, give you one of the most robust ecig systems available, and it's truely a better system in general. It's larger than a regular cig by a long shot. I like to compare it to an expensive pen.

2.) Get a kr808d-1 to 510 adapter, and a 510 atomizer and some carts. These use a blue foam instead of cotton. (if i'm not mistaken) and don't burn quite like the kr808 carts do. This will give you an intro to the way an ego is going to feel/taste without having ot invest in a starter kit for a product you might not like. (You'll love it though, I promise.)

Of course, you could always use your juice in your empty carts as well, so long as the flavors are compatable. You wouldn't want to use spaghetti juice in your old white wine cart, if you know what I'm sayin.

That sounds interesting DataPhreak. I'll probably wait awhile before trying to do refills, so I'll take your advice and throw them in the freezer (after all, I won that battle a few months ago when I talked my wife into letting me store the excess bottles of Duracoat Hardener in the freezer).

The thing that I'm unsure of is the flavors. I'm not a big fan of fruit or nut flavored coffee. I roast my own coffee and the flavored stuff is Blasphemy to me! I don't know that really want to smoke coffee or cherry or pina colada flavored vapor. Not to mention that everything they sent me was low nicotine strength. Maybe someone who likes that stuff will trade me a kr808d battery or a charging system for them, so I'm not throwing them out.

For now, I'm just waiting for ST to get their stock back in.

My mom had a smoke Tip. I bought her cartomizers for it at V4L (or anywhere that sells cartos) and fill them with tobacco flavored juice. She likes the juice at Backwoods brew.

If you like the juice that came with your Smoke Tip kit I believe it's dekang juice. Some US suppliers also sell it.
