I will soon have a problem vaping:laugh:

Newbie here......

I've been in research mode for the past few days and I am still confused...

But here it is....

Been a smoker for many years, too many years..... Kools, 1/2 a pack + a day, more on the Weekends with Capt and Cokes. More on the boat fishing.......

I've been looking at package deals and to me it seems like the way to go initially.. am I doing the right thing?

What I want initially is
A Normal looking Cig (replacement).. A must.. (the manly man in me :2cool:) for now....
Open the Box
charge it up and then vape.....
Menthol Taste as close to Kool as I can get.......

I'm looking at V2 or the Safe Cig....

I am sure down the road I'll get into my own Captain flavored liquids:)
and all of that....

But for now I have something to prove to myself & family.....I want to order something today.....and have by the end of the week at latest.......

Thx for your advice and here is hoping I have something to contribute once I'm past the newbie stage.....

This is my story and I'm sticking to it:blush:

Hi, Mike! Welcome to ECF!

You can go with the "it has to look like a cigarette", and you might be satisfied with that since you don't seem to be a heavy smoker. The only problem with the e-cigs that look like cigarettes is the battery life. For the most, it sucks and you could end up spending more time charging your batteries than actually using them. You could also end up spending way more money on the initial start-up than you really need to.

vaping is about compromise. If you want to get the most out of your experience and actually quit smoking, then you will have to make some concessions. The first is going to be whether or not your e-cig looks like a cigarette. IMO there isn't anything unmanly about a KR808D-1 or a 510 in a slick black or silver color. Those batteries are going to last you longer between charges and you'll have a better experience. I think you'll find that the initial start-up cost is very reasonable.

Sounds like you want a 510 kit, there are lots of good prices all over the internet for them. You won't be happy, that's what I used and the batteries only last about 2 hours, so you'll need MANY for back ups! After a week you'll be very frustrated and won't even CARE that it looks like or feels like an analog (which it doesn't, because it's heavier than an analog)! So while you're ordering the 510 kit, read about the Riva/Ego/Hello etc and how long it lasts. I have a Riva and have not regretted my decision finally! All the parts from your 510 kit will be interchangeable with your Ego/Riva/Hello etc.

As for eliquid, taste IS subjective, so it's hard to give you advice on that. Me, I'm a menthol smoker and want ONLY menthol ejuice and there are tons out there and different tastes. Be careful, some are "minty" instead of "menthol".
I saw on The Vapor Room site, they will give you FREE eliquid with your first order and always throw in a free sample. You could always ask for a sample of 555 Menthol. When I first went to vaping, that was my fave. But again, taste IS all subjective. I went with others recommendations and did not like alot of them. Gourmet Vapor has "A Tasty Menthol Ciggarette" and it's pretty good! Order some samples like I did, when they have a sale. Best of luck to you!

Hi Mike and. . .here I sit with a Riva in one hand and an eGo in the tuther. Tryin to figure out which is better. I know one has to be cause lots of people argue about it all the time. Actually, ain't squat difference tween um. Welcome aboard.

Cheers,
otrpu

I have 4 Rivas and 2 eGo 900mah's. I started with the Rivas and just got the 900's about a week ago. Love 'em all! The Rivas last about 10-12 hours and the eGo's are lasting at least one day. My fiance and I are heavy vapers, too.

Thx everyone.. so I'm looking for something like this?

KR808D1 - Ultimate Starter Kit

Or this......

Joye eGo Starter Kit Black | Joye eGo Electronic Cigarette

I see cartridges
Like these to get me going?
510D Hard Tip Cartomizers Menthol

The eGo is an excellent PV and is the unit that I have, but I'm going to suggest something else. Take a look at this recent review that was done on the Roughstack from Madvapes:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/electronic-cigarette-reviews/135651-roughstack-madvapes.html

This PV has two important advantages over the eGo:

1. It uses generic lithium batteries that cost less than $6, as opposed to the $16-25 batteries the eGo uses.

2. Low resistance atomizers can be used on the Roughstack which produce huge clouds of vape. LR attys can be used on an eGo, but they kill the expensive batteries.

My eGo batteries have lots of life left in them so I will be using it for a while yet, but then I am moving on to a Roughstack. You could just as well start out that way. Wish I had.

I'd suggest looking here Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA!, 1/2 the price. Just add a box of cartomizers and a few bottles of juice and you're set.

If you want an eGo it's basically the same thing as a Riva, look here Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510, use discount code october20 for 20% off and it'll come to right at $30. There again add a box or 2 of cartridges or cartos, and a few bottles of juice.

If you're set on cartomizers look for the soft cap ones they're easier to refill. Just pop off the white rubber cap and drip juice into them. As far as prefilled cart's or carto's, they are notoriously bad with few exceptions. I'd buy blanks and fill them myself. It's cheaper too.
I'd also get manual batteries not auto's. You'll be happier with them in the long run.

The advantage of the eGo (or Riva) is the long battery life. Where the KR808 will go for 2 to 3 hours, the standard eGo will run for 8 or so. It will also give more options in the future. You can switch between atomizers and cartomizers, or use low resistance atomers. You don't have these options with the KR8. Either one will be a good unit however, and if you're trying to keep the size down then the KR8 will be a better choice than the eGo. Just keep in mind the limitations.

I know that you want one that looks like a real cig, but as has been said they are not that good. As to the manly man look, really the joye 510 will work. I am a man (last time I checked) And when I vape at work more men ask me about my 510 then women. Mine is Black with a blue led so it looks cool when you are vaping at night. As you get used to vaping you might want to look at some of the mods most are extremely masculine looking.

If you want one that looks and acts like a real cigarette get one from smoke stik, they are the closest thing to actual smoking I've used. But you might as well jump to the place you'll eventually land anyway and get a Buzz from Notcig. It gives you the ability to set your own voltage level to obtain the primo fuction of what ever juice, atty or carto you are using. The Buzz is like having all the other mods rolled ino one.It also has 5way protecection for your safety. Check the Buzz forums, don't take my word for it. Plus their customer service is second to none and I mean NONE. I've seen them cover things from second hand owners and that's hard to find in todays marketplace. By the way

Welcome Mike!! I agree with everyone else, don't get one that looks like a cigarette. I spent $70 something dollars on a kit to get started and just had to have one that looked like a real cigarette--big mistake!! The model was crap and it barely produced any vapor and less than a week later I was back to researching the different models and bought a 510. Six weeks later I haven't had a single cigarette (I was a p-a-d smoker) and haven't had any issues with the 510. Congrats on quitting!! Check out cignot.com, that's where I get all my stuff. They have great prices and quick shipping!

Thx everyone... I really appreciate the welcomes, help & advice..... .....

I have done away with the real look....so much for the manly thang :) (Just kidding) from what I've read after I typed it, just not the way to go....

I am still a bit confused but working through it...

AS of right now, I "think" (leaning toward) going with the Joye eGo..... (since they don't carry a Mike eGo :)

Joye eGo

Is this a good place to start..

What else should I order along with this kit (if this is what I go with)?

Money is an object, But I'm not one to skimp initially for something I want....

Hell paying average $6 a day...crazy...., (more on weekends) for regular cigs.... this will pay for itself asap.......

Let me know your thoughts and I'll keep ya'all posted on what I do and my progression as the "Mad Vaper"

Funny part about all of this is.. I knew there was this world out here...but it is alot larger then I ever imagined......

Best of luck to all who have put down the real bad cigs!

Thx again!
